You pay for a $ 20 million house and you get a piece of garbage install 🙄. Man I would be fuming at the gills. Like you said in the beginning Y is this like that? Very unsetting to see this. And on top the inspections let that go. Treat it with respect Ted, I know you will.

It’s sad that a high end home like this and the contractor gets the cheap guys to do his work.customers pay the price for subpar work. Instead of making a simple transition for the filter to unit let’s just tape it.crappy duct design with pipe and flex.been doing heating and air conditioning/sheet metal mechanic for over 33 years.house of this price point should have a proper sheet mental duct design with tees and dampers for air balancing.its sad what this industry was gone to

I'd guess; laziness in materials ordering (in short). Just got multiple quantity for simplicity of ordering, or perhaps didn't think through the horizontal orientation/space fit of this unit. Rather than reorder a few items, they just pushed through the install with what they had on hand already. _Making it fit_ as they went.

Serviesmen like you do scare me. You were set to do a job. And it wasn't do in the video. You went to talk to the homeowner. They wanted you to fix the problem so the water didn't leak. It's a simple fix of a clogged drain. And drain pan clean up. So you argued with the home owner. They tell to leave and call a different serviceman that will fix the problem. You keep forgetting that you are a serviceman not a engineer or designer

Is there a fresh air return on that spray foam house ? And is there while home dehumidification? Or do yal not have these humidity issues ? We run into shady spray foam houses regularly that are humid inside an in the winter the inside windows sweat . They have spray foam encapsulated house and contractors don’t put fresh air return in for circulation and doesn’t put dehumidification in it the house ruins from inside out .

Customer was smart to do the complete suggestions by Ted. Idiots who installed the thing were lazy, should have left the jobsite and picked up a correct sized filter cabinet or simply put the filter in the return register downstairs for easy service. Seems to me that those pans are collecting the dirt causing the condensate drain issues. Why not pipe the primary and secondary condensate drains to the outside? The larger/correct filter will help much with the units performance.

Nice work. Chris Stephens (hvac overtime and his channel) needs to see this video. He is getting ready to redo his house and is considering Bosch which is liable to be a mistake. He is also debating against spray foam but he wants to relocate his new system from a closet to the attic. I am sure this attic was conditioned exclusively from air handler and duct leakage alone. He admits he is not that experienced in residential but wants a first class system and wants to upgrade his house sealing etc.
@picklerix61622 жыл бұрын
Not sure why Bosch is a mistake? It’s a typical sloppy installation.
@brnmcc012 жыл бұрын
What's wrong with Bosch? I put in a Bosch heat pump system awhile back, maybe a year ago, working pretty good so far. They're badly out of stock again, so not going to do anymore. Heard good things so thought would try one out and see. Better to start off with one or two installs of a different brand before I decide if I want to trust it or not. Be really bad to go put in several or a dozen and then end up with a bajillion callbacks because of crap equipment.
@DS-fb9te2 жыл бұрын
@@brnmcc01 like all ways is about the installation. Any system will work fine, and then comes the maintenance which is also a key factor for longevity.
@throttlebottle59062 жыл бұрын
my thought is, the "snow legs" they've used as risers has deflected the units side up in and has the pan bowed up and holding water at the back near filter, so it's holding water and overflowing the back corner. if they're going to use leg's like that, they should put two sections of unistrut(or similar), under the whole length of the airhandler(unit) and the legs underneath that. that will keep the unit from deflecting and causing problems. even unistrut across the short way with the legs under would help. alternate support all four corners and two near center of unit, preferably at the middle divider sheet.
