I have the exact heat pump. 2011 as well in Atlanta. Every few yew years for the fast 5 years there has been a slow leak, having to refill once a year. We replaced the evap coil in the attic in 2020 and we went to turn on the AC the other day. Nothing, no refrigerant in the system. When you press on the shradder valve no air, only oil comes out. Not sure if that's normal.

I have a similar unit and need to remove the top to clean it. however, I can't figure out how to remove the plastic casing around the wires leading from the fan to the side of the unit. any suggestions?

On the back of the capacitor ...the sticker-- up the left side reads some letters then 440-4005....440 is the voltage then 40/05 for the micro farrad rating.....Its also coded across the top

Why did you stop selling Amana? It seems that even tho Goodman is basically the same as Amana they seem to be better then Goodman.

Amana is definitely a better unit then a Goodman. The Amana has a 2 speed outdoor fan motor and compressor sound blanket as well as Expanded CoreSense™ diagnostics built in board. The Amana AC/ Heat Pump units also have a better wire/ steel top that is much easier to take off to service unit or replace fan motor. The Amana 16 SEER AC/ Heat Pump units have a "LIFETIME UNIT REPLACEMENT" if compressor ever fails. The Goodman 16 SEER AC/ Heat Pump units have a "LIFETIME COMPRESSOR REPLACEMENT". I have been selling Goodman for about 30 years and have been a Amana dealer for about 13 years now. Both products are manufactured in Texas as well and "NOT IN MEXICO" lol. I actually can purchase Amana at a better price then Goodman right now which makes no sense but I am not complaining.

I use Titan capacitors, made in Kennesaw Ga. I never had a call back on these capacitors. They are expensive compared to the china made ones. They are built damn good though. Great video John thanks for sharing.

Another test you can do for defrost is run heat mode,remove fan wire from board relay,take volt reading across defrost sensor until you get 0 volts,then carefully reconnect your fan to board,then jump test-at least you will see that the sensor is operating properly as well

If it is a straight cool unit, instead of running a new wire, install a 24v liquid line solenoid wired to the y call and a ranco low pressure control outdoors. Have the thermostat energize and de energize the solenoid causing the unit to pump down and shut off. Easier then running a difficult wire and make a little more money on the job
