A heat pump is a system used to heat or cool an enclosed space or domestic water by transferring thermal energy from a cooler space to a warmer space using the refrigeration cycle, moving heat in the opposite direction in which heat transfer would take place without the application of external power. When used to cool a building, a heat pump works like an air conditioner by transferring heat from inside the building to the outdoors. When used to heat a building, the heat pump operates in reverse: heat is transferred into the building from the outdoors. Common heat pump types are air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps, water source heat pumps and exhaust air heat pumps. Heat pumps are also often used in district heating systems.
The water source heat pump replaces the outdoor fan and coil with a heat exchanger. For this system to work the building provides a loop of water. This water loop includes a cooling tower and a boiler to maintain the water entering and leaving the unit for optimal performance.

They well known i hate working on them and hard to get to the ports to check pressures gotta take the unit out and unscrew the water lines and using those probes are better because each time you put gauges on you lose refrigerant its only ounces in there ive been watching your videos 📹 been helping me out with refrigeration I just started with a new company that does hvac & refrigeration so your vidoes help out alot thanks bro hopefully see you around the city thanks for your help

Most apartment complexes try to get by as cheap as possible. The place could be sold before it needs a major repair. This is how the owners make their money, they hope to sell at the right time. Then there are owners who just use the place as a tax write off. Years ago I did maintenance in a complex.

It’s a Beautiful Thing, Jumperman, lol. Wanted.. to say: U made correct choice of your field Jumperman! Possibly u should contract out somehow training groups of the younger generation, etc. Field teacher/Instructor. Sorry to say: All they know is playing on their phones & not wanting to work. U definitely have the common sense that they don’t, engineering expertise, experience & knowledge. Just a thought. Excellent Vid once again.

It's an epidemic. I send my helper to his channel when we do something I know he made a video on. Only one helper ever said I saw the video already. Every time one works with me, I give them a list of all the HVACR channels. I can always tell who is watching.

Omega are junk. They make furnaces here in Aus and are just garbage. I came across a unit running without the combustion fan working and started a fire in the cabinet….the customer called saying there was a burning smell…luckily there was a rollout switch that worked!

PRESSURES ARE USELESS NEED TEMPERATURES NOT PRESSURES TO DIAGNOSE BECAUSE PRESSURES CHANGE WITH THE FLAVOR OF REFRIGERANT USED BUT TEMPERATURES DONT CHANGE SO ONLY USE TEMPERATURES NOT PRESSURES THIS WILL MAKE YOU A BETTER TECH AND TRAINER

He’s talking in pressures because it’s easier. He stated the refrigerant. It’s short hand and an easier way to refer to the temperature of the refrigerant. there’s no need to try and life coach the bloke.

I stick by my original post because everyone says use temperatures not pressures if you tell a mentor or a boss the pressures they will either not respond or they'll give him schite about it the temperatures are how to diagnose refrigeration systems not pressures because you give pressures the person you are speaking to has to use a TP chart to convert the pressures to temperatures and you diagnose with superheat and subcooling so pressures are worthless because these are temperatures not pressures. He needs to learn the correct way to diagnose a system. Sorry for the caps lock on previous post. I also see him training a helper so if he does not train his apprentice the right way then his example is passed on to the next trainee that his trainee trains later in the future then again Senior techs or Journeyman techs want to blame the trainee when it's is the person's trainer because their excuse is "that's how I was trained or taught" which is WRONG!!! So train the right way instead of passing bad habits down. You will be better and make your apprentices better at diagnosing refrigeration issues if you train them to use temperatures not pressures.
@dmiestercommkitchentech3043
@dmiestercommkitchentech3043 Ай бұрын
Ok I already said to properly diagnose a system you need the temperatures of the Superheat and Subcooling so tell me what the reading is when the pressure for Superheat when pressure is 165PSIG and Subcooling pressure is 380PSIG diagnose the issue refrigerant flavor does not matter because pressures are the same so tell me what is wrong I bet you CAN'T because pressures are not the same temperatures because refrigerants are not the same but if I was to tell you the Superheat was say 2°F and subcooling was say 10°F manufacturer says the system has a TXV and the Subcooling of the system is designed for a 9° subcooling then you could properly diagnose the system without the pressure readings (all stats were made off top of my head not actual) I could tell you it is a air flow issue without pressures used or knowing what refrigerant is in the system because operating temperatures don't change. So anyone that says pressures go with temperature like I go with dummy haha ha is the idiot that has no business or experience to make this idiotic comment and yes SLIM SHADY IS AT IT AGAIN HACKS. This is not directed at anyone that know that to be a good tech and properly diagnose a system you need temperatures not pressures. JMT this is not meant as a calling out because you do great work on the boilers and I respect what you do but if you are training someone then train them the right way. Temperatures matter not pressures because temperatures are the same whether on a 410a or R32 system evaporator operates at a temperature between 35°-48° and condenser is designed for a temperature approximately 25°-30° over ambient temperature this is HVAC design temps not refrigeration. Most of the fellas condemning my comment could not do refrigeration racks or otherwise. So the gentleman that made the dummy comment can stay in his lane because he isn't even in my league.

That factory pirt looked like a coremax fitting. If it is, it always has a depressor, i personally hate coremax . They always leak, and a swivel tee is the quick fix for it. If im recovering the refrigerant....i get rid of them and add a conventional port. Usually ⅜" with a ¼" flare fitting for hoses or gauges/ probes. How does the unit fail on a LPS with the sensor bypassed????? I don't know how that board " would eventually cut off on LP" Unless there is a suction line temp sensor tied into the board....or it has a loss of charge switch also connected???????
@JumpermanTech
@JumpermanTech Ай бұрын
It does have a shader valve inside. I tried with a spare unit in the basement. It honestly baffled me as well as to how the system can shut down on low pressure control with it bypassed. I called tech support and asked them and that is what they told me. Not having the LPS wired will somehow trip the board. I asked if there was a low temperature sensor or something, but there isn't. It is straight forward. Makes me think the board is faulty honestly but they said no control could trip it. Honestly doesn't make sense but idk how they built those controls and their board. No loss of charge switch. The charge was good in this case and still tripped with no control. I wondered if there OEM controls have some sort of resistance that the board can sense to trip it. We will see what happens. This aftermarket control was a test run. Might need OEM controls or that board has to be faulty. Thank you for the advice & thanks for watching! 🙏🔧⚡️
