I would take motor off, put B.A. on 1st then put motor and coupling on. Thats how i did it and never pinched a gasket. Always put never seize on bolts.

Nice video. Might be a good idea to put a little oil on the motor shafts while you got it out. 3 in 1 motor oil would probably be good.

I don't put tape on wire nuts because if moisture gets in there it will be trapped in the nut and tape.

Thank you, very awesome video and control board! So, I have 0.0 volts between C and R at my thermostat which could be the transformer but if it is an overflow switch would that cause the 0.0 volts? I have an electric heater and A/C combined to heat/cool the house. Any info would be appreciated! Thank you in advance! God bless!

Instead of cutting your r wire ( power) and common directly from the trans former. It would make more sense to take them from the r terminal and c terminal ( same thing, but now you have no wires to the r 24 v terminal.

The way I determine a good tech is if they can cut wires using side cuts and not try to find wire strippers..

Excellent video my man! This is a great video for new techs just starting out in the field especially commercial! In regards to the condenser fans that is correct when you have multiple condenser fan motors like on those York models and most larger RTU’S with several motors mounted with in the same compartment or general area. When one or more even of the motors fail or run cap fails and a motor is not running they can be deceptive and appear to be running slow or backwards, when what’s taking place is the suction ( air being pulled through condenser coil) creates an air vacuum that will make a fan blade on a dead motor appear to move slower or actually run in reverse but usually at a slower speed than the operational motors. Also always make sure you you don’t replace one of these with a weaker motor the other motors can cause the replaced motor to fail premature… Again great video I give you mad props for being thorough we need more techs and installers in the field that actually care and trained correctly! 🤙👍 It almost like all parts of New York is Hackers Paradise 😂 …. But really it’s not funny it’s scary.Also quick little trick your refrigeration ratchet wrench and the adapter for residential condenser liquid lines is exact size Allen key pull need for any gas valves with larger ports… Try it it’s much quicker brother!

Can you estimate how long this unit was in use? Great Video Thanks.

@rogozzy1 This unit was in use for a few heating seasons, but I'd do this type of maintenance every season or 2. Each heating season can be around 3-4 months over here in NYC. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the explanation, I wonder... is there a way to power these outside the unit? I got one where I have a intermitant vibration issue, the motors are not easily accessable, so aside from just swapping both or and moving it around, had to tell which is the issue, or even if it's motor and not a fan blade issue. Powering them up to spin would help in diagnosing mine.

I'm not an HVACR guy and I don't understand water and refrigerant cooling in the same unit. It just baffles me how it can be both.
@JumpermanTech3 күн бұрын
@ronnym1977 Hey Ronny, I'll break it down for you. There is a condenser coil in every AC or refrigeration system. Its purpose is to reject heat. The condenser coil is hot, and there is refrigerant inside of the coil, which needs to be cooled off to reject that heat. The refrigerant and water never mix. There are usually fans to do this job BUT in this case, they use water because of the location as it's indoors. The water is only to cool off the condenser coil instead of a fan, and that's it. The refrigerant does all the actual cooling. Hope that helped. Thanks for watching as always! Be safe 🔧⚡️
