Today we return to the system with the faulty TXV from the other day. I decided to replace the entire evap coil. And the outcome was fantastic. I still need to repair the return, but it is doing much better. #hvac #hvactech #hvactechnician #hvaclife #fieldpiece #makita #ruud #hvacguy #ruud

I love how you continue to try to improve in everything you do. I’ve watched your vids for awhile and I don’t comment on much but I’ve seen you continuing to get better at doing things the way they should be done. I’m sure KZbin helps push you too with all the “experts” haha but they help you learn in a way too

I don't know what you call this but we called it a burn blanket. They can't take a flame on them. We would use some sheet metal to knock down the flame. But we also would use real wet rages.

I sometimes forget charge for time to return warranty stuff it's part of the job . Not long ago I just changed coil using same cabinet on goodman the front door was a little different on rubber bushings workout fine. I keep thinking my big hose has 1/4 on one end 1/2 on other.

great job! I know it's difficult sometimes to see the difference between slightly low of charge, or TXV when the ambient temp is low. I have been wanting one of those fieldpiece vacuum pumps for a while now, i also love my SMAN 480 manifold. I can telll you have spent a lot of $ on your setup, as have I. that just means you try to really take care of your customers, as do I!

Good video. Question, Is wet rag or some type of heat insulator recommended when brazing next to dryer?
@ParabellumX
@ParabellumX Жыл бұрын
When brazing next to any fitting, sensor, or other device/equipment that is sensitive to temperature and may result in becoming defective, always use some wet rags or other heat insulation to prevent unwanted heat transfer.

You could have pumped down the system and did a pressure test on the coil after temporarily fixing txv leakage.

I had a bad TXV on a RUUD with simiar issues. Replaced the TXV under warrenty. The replacement itself took about an hour plus three hours to pump down to 500 and adjust the subcooling and superheat. I never thought you could just replace the whole coil. Not much different in labor. Did not have to mess with the drain.

@masontull8388
@masontull8388 2 жыл бұрын
He changed out the entire coil and txv because the evaporator was still under factory warranty and any leak to it warrants it being changed and when he said the cost was about the same frame to replace the TXV or the whole coil he was meaning the labor cost because warranty provided the coil and all he had to do was return the old coil to get his money for that, so his only real costs were the torching the filter dryer and his time
