Does a Trane unit installed on its side have a similar design? I have been trying to help an elderly lady at our church who is having a condensate leak issue where some of the the water is dripping from seams in the cabinet into the drip pan. The drain line is not clogged and receives a good bit of the condensation, but she is collecting at least a gallon or more each day in bowls sitting under the unit. The unit is only 4 years old, but the company that installed it went out of business due to health reasons of the owner. She has had multiple HVAC professionals look at it, and nobody seems to be able to explain why all the water is not going down the drain. Like the one you describe in the video, her unit is one that creates negative pressure inside the cabinet, since the blower is positioned on the supply end of the cabinet. We live in NE Georgia, so very humid here in the summer. Thanks for the video, and I would love to hear your thoughts on my situation if you have time.

Good deal !..... question.....I have a horizontal-right discharge Goodman unit. .....and get this....as you view the cabinet from the front access doors....the components are (left-to-right), the evap coil....the blower...and then the electronics/heater section. The coil, however, for Goodman units installed as horiz/right discharge....is that the "A" shape of the coil has the 2 wide-spaced legs of the "A" facing towards the blower (!).....NOT the expected reverse image. As such, I think the "Water" I'm seeing is from this coil dropping water from these high and low locations of the "A", ..... and not from cabinet condensation ( unit is located in a hot/humid unconditioned attic....so I will insulate the cabinet more just to make sure.....but I think I have this "internal" water problem too.). Any experience on these Goodman units with comments?

@@HVACinSC I have a slant coil doing it I didn't see the water stains like yours just looks like it's literally getting pulled off the coil, maybe its a dirty coil or maybe its missing those things I'll have to look next time. The customers filter was wrecked and had the fan on high I changed the filter and turned it down we will see what happens. Noted it's been super humid here I live humidity is an average around 15 and has been in the 40-60s from monsoons

It's the language for me. "Cap" seems like too much of a basic word for the "ACTUAL" purpose of the parts description.
@HVACinSC
@HVACinSC 2 жыл бұрын
You're thinking way to hard about this bud. lol. It's just a press on rubber end cap that "Caps" the end of the trough. No different than the pressed on end cap on a gutter, cap on a duct connection, or a cap on a piece of pvc. It's like discussing if the gas "cap" on your truck should be renamed a gas "lid" because it screws on. 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️😄
