Love the dental pick and lazy susan technique, will be adopting. You have some really great tricks and I'm sure we all appreciate you taking the time to share. Hope you're having a lovely day.

Hi, I have also restored a 101 and a 100. My HW 100 plays better then the 101. My HW 100 needs a VFO Knob so I had to make a reduction drive knob for it. Did the same wash job also. Thanks for your vid and time. Green lives for ever! AB1ZI

Amazing restoration of an old Heathkit HW-100 transceiver & works fantastic!🙂 My dad had one of those as I remember those radios as a little kid in 1970! 🙂 Jeff , 73 de VE3EUP📻

Built a few heath kits in early eighties. Never heard of this type of clearing.

Great video! Thanks! This brings back memories of building a HW-101 and a couple of WH-12's. I'm currently restoring a SB-200. I'll be contacting you about the paint options when I get to that stage.

Beautiful restoration, though I would use a style of potentiometer as close to the original as possible. The Bourns pot will work very well though.

The washing I learnt that a few years ago. When I tell people to give their amp a wash they think I'm joking.

My first SSB rig was an HW-100 I built while in the USAF in the early 70s. It worked OK except for the VFO drive that tended to slip.

Nice video really liked it only wish a little more detail like neutralizing the finals and IF alignment. thanks 73s wb7qxu

I've posted before on this but you need to use a light bulb limiter! It will save your components so they don't smoke :)

I hope you pulled out those rusty bolts on the front panel...Give them a little shine

Do you need to do anything special for a 4 pin mic conversion? Finding two pin mic connectors are expensive.

My first HF SSB radio! I got it as a hand-me-down in 1977 or so. (Had an HW-16 before that) Do you think the resistors "went bad" or were the original 20% resistors just way off to begin with?

I am fairly handy but am new to Ham Radio (Technician studying for General). How difficult was it to learn to repair these old radios? I have some limited experience with electronic equipment (audio and process controls) including vacuum tube equipment.
