I've been keeping a close eye on the kpop "hater" community for 3 years now, and I've noted a couple of things. The vast majority of the hate "campaigns" originate in either S. Korea or China and then are joined by toxic people around the world. Both countries are very conservative AND their laws and media are set up to help fuel these things. I also can't find cases of male artists being condemned for these types of things. Both countries have a "social norm" that women are to be subservient, they're supposed to be pretty, quiet, and defer to men. That's why so many "men" fetishize Asian women, they're looking for exactly what these critics of Hwasa are wanting - a pretty woman who will do what their told. Idols, in general, are seen as objects, not human beings. They are given a VERY narrow window of acceptable behavior, and are expected to produce/perform music at a rate that is far beyond anything in most of the world. There's a sense of ownership in all of this that allows them to feel justified in saying whatever they want about them. Idols are, eventually, going to have to band together and demand change, and the media is going to have to stop supporting - and fueling - this culture of hate and fetishization. There are toxic fans, haters, negative people all over the world, but in S. Korea and China, it's an industry. So many people, from KZbin channels, to T.V. stations, to magazines are dependent on "scandals", and so they jump on every mistake, anything that can be "interpreted" to mean something that can cause outrage. Idols are too thin or too fat, too old or too young, too ugly or too pretty (just models), too boring or too sexy, and the list goes on. This is why you hear so many Koreans complaining about kpop becoming an International genre', and complaining that some groups/solo artists spend more time abroad than on local media, they want this vise grip on the industry and the Idols to remain in their hands alone. I don't apologize for this rant - it could have been much longer, I left out much of the detail. Nothing is going to change until the Idols, and the good-hearted fans who support them stand up and speak out. Artists like Hwasa, and yes, Blackpink, are going to continue to bear the brunt of these hate campaigns until then. This is, eventually, going to cause chaos in the industry and could push kpop back to a national genre' if they don't start making some changes to bring kpop more in line with the International audience that they are increasingly becoming financially dependent upon. Finally, I loved this song, and I understand your struggle to maintain a level of professionalism. 😉

I like the music in "I Love MY Body" listen to the song regularly. The choreography fits the song. KPOP has always been heavy on sexuality of the girl groups. Their focus has been on the buttocks and on the pubic area. Which I find crude. So nothing in Hwasa/s song upset me. Her performance is basically modest.
