Lucian was nearby-his presence was unmistakable, the scent of light and gunpowder hanging in the air. Lucian stood at the edge of the clearing, twin pistols gleaming faintly in the moonlight. His sharp eyes scanned the tree line, but Hwei knew Lucian couldn’t see him-not until it was too late. This was Hwei’s realm, where shadows followed his command. Without warning, Hwei struck. A shadowy chain shot from the undergrowth, wrapping around Lucian’s arm. The Purifier reacted instantly, firing off a burst of bullets as he dashed back. But Hwei was already gone, slipping back into the shadows. Lucian gritted his teeth, scanning the darkness. “You think hiding will save you?” Hwei’s voice echoed from the shadows, low and dangerous. “No. But it will destroy you.” Lucian unleashed his Culling, a barrage of light-filled bullets tearing through the jungle. Trees splintered and the ground shook, but Hwei moved like smoke, his form slipping between each shot. The instant Lucian paused to reload, the chains returned, wrapping around him with greater force. This time, they pulled him down to his knees. Lucian struggled to lift his pistols, but Hwei was already there, emerging from the darkness. His blade flashed, cutting across Lucian’s chest with precise, lethal grace. Lucian gasped, his strength waning as blood soaked through his armor. He glared up at Hwei, defiant. “You… won’t… win.” Hwei leaned closer, his eyes cold, glowing faintly in the dim light. “Fear the fangs, respect the skill,” he whispered, his voice a deadly calm. “This isn’t about winning. It’s about the hunt.” Lucian collapsed, his vision fading as Hwei stepped back, vanishing once again into the night. The jungle returned to its silence, the shadows deepening, as Hwei left Lucian broken, but alive-just enough to remind him who ruled the darkness.

The reason he's ridiculous is the same reason other champs can also be - the ridiculously low CDs. Like at level 10, your Q was on a 5 second CD. 5 seconds. With 3 different abilities. One of them being an ability that's kind of like Xerath W, which is on a much longer CD. Also, you can just QE + EE a wave and kill it by level 6-7 (depending on if you have kills). And you can just do that on repeat. How is someone supposed to walk up for farm when the enemy constantly has some form of AOE happening? It's too oppressive.

@@PekinWoof Nope, I play in High Elo mmr and I make Hwei as well as other meta mids Suffer with my off meta picks. Most of my champs tend to be Off meta for fun tho, like Elise mid to torture ad assassins or melees in general and Kai'sa against Poke Mages. High Elo players aren't used to these picks so they get caught off guard and don't know how to play against them. My Zyra pick has kept Hweis, Oris, and Azirs in check.

@@PekinWoof Somewhat, but Hweis just usually push the wave and poke afterwards while you're trying to farm, I just learned to position plants where they attract minion aggro and stop him from pushing in and keep the lane neutral or favored for me, eventually poking him down and forcing him to base or get a kill out of it somehow, not to mention his QQ and EQ get blocked by the 1st enemy hit and I learned to spawn plants to mess up his combos consistently.

Hwei has so much early power that he can make it so your jungler can do w.e they want cuz ur always just getting the opponent low. When I go against hwei he just pushes me under turret and spams stuff at me while I have no opportunity to hit him back. Hwei to me is absolutely broken, but ofc that is my take on him, you can disagree on it
