Like deal 30% or 40% damage or something, then I feel like it would be fine to buff the damage a little bit. Although it's gotta feel super sick when you hit a combo like that and hit 3/4 people with 3/4 different passive procs and just one shot them. But I think that's not super common, so idk.

I think they are scared of buffing his passive damage because they are afraid of a Aphelios situation where he obliterates the entire enemy team in one combo since the passiv stacks with itself. Maybe they could buff thr passiv in other ways like having it also restore some mana when proced or reducing Hwei's cooldowns a bit. Although that is also dangerous.

Hey neme, I noticed you didn’t really use W-E too often, and I was wondering why? I know the shield is helpful when playing against a champ like akshan, but if you manage to get lvl 2 prio or if your wave is pushing using W-E can add a good amount of damage plus regen mana. I don’t think it’s too helpful late game or during team fights, but if you’re running electrocute it will deal some extra damage in a side lane 1v1. Just a thought, great video as always!

I agree with that take. He is a slower controll mages with a pretty low range. You either make his spells faster or reward his damage a lot more for hitting. Otherwise he will always be team reliant. Right now he looks like he has pretty good lategame damage and utility, but he needs people to protect him, so he can protect them, with cc and utility. Best comps for him are gonna be controll comp or deathball comp for sure, where he either enables melee carries or gets enabled by tanks, with a second carry on your side.

I think there is a big difference in what is hard in high elo and low elo. I genuinely think this champs skill floor is one of the hardest to reach. But at the same time that still easy to reach as it is a skill floor but to master the champ its probably need to be a little above average on the difficulty scale. I don’t know for sure I play in middle elos right now.

Fair. His W abilities are underwhelming. The W1 gives movespeed in a thin line and W2 although regens shield really fast it is such a small area and doesn't last long at all. The shield is meant to deny DoT but burst still kills it. I like the potential of his E2 since it aoe, deny plus vision but CD too long and doesn't last long at all without truesight vision. He does a lot of different things that makes him adaptable but doesn't do great at much else.

video posted dec 2023. the patch nemesis was playing on is #1 of 3 for hotfix buffs to hwei's kit. I think he's roughly 10% stronger 4-5 months later. the passive is still the same though

His passive hits all enemies in an AOE and stacks with other passive procs on other grouped enemies. His passive damage is already fantastic with that in mind...

@@GetOverHer3 Yeah in silver lol. People in plat+ have decent mechanics, their macro is just god awful and have no clue how to end games. People stacking on top of each other is very rare and when it happens you need your combo off cooldown, which is even more rare otherwise you're sitting waiting and not casting anything.

For me this champ is a zoner, i use him supp and early in lane i just poke with QQ and regen mana with WE, mid game i help to push away/fight siege with QE, and snipe low targets/deny recalls with QW, EQ to move away from a gank and EW to stop the jun or give protection to my adc from an engage, i really don't like EQ, if you miss it or they side step you are done. The shield is just a thing you cast in a teamfight mid/late game or early if they push you undertower, really not much else to do (unless you need to follow someone then you use WQ), I love torment on him+cd boots and mandate, Hwei for me it's not a carry but an utility/zoning champ, in teamfight i always wanna spam QE and EW to make the battlefield really hell for the enemy frontline, he is also good to take care of choke points and check bushes, burn+slow+snare are everything you need on him, just build a s ton of AH and spam those in teamfights, not much to think but very consistent slows,damage and cc

Problem with this champion I had was that his animations are hard to read, especially the fear. He casts it and you have very little time to react to it, even at max range. At least that's what I would say after 3 games played against him lmao, will propably get better over time

At 6:50 Rakan gets your shield, and tanks a lot of dmg from Akshan in a couple of frames. Your shield duration was fully channeled on Rakan at the point he walked away, he was dead anyways. EDIT: Also, 3x Damage combo would simply use WE before, right?

Just to point out that if you stay you still receive more shields its a shield over time. So maybe it rakan ran the other way he would've survived. Also yea you auto WE before it hits then do E or Q spell or both cause passive will proc the third W anyways. Good early game combo for dmg if you can take the trade.

i wish hweis ult or passive would allow him to use each ability from qwe, ult would make the most sense, passive would need to work like a reset, making it so the qwe he used first get its cooldown partially reset by landing both the first & next spell, so missing would be punishing, & for max damage potential youd need to open with a damage ability rather than something that sets up a damage ability, which would add more risk in your positioning or a need for teamwork to setup, another idea is the refunding % of cooldown only requiring you to land the first ability & having a cooldown per champion hit kind of like night harvester passive, so you cant just always double q or double e, maybe it could only allow the usage of the other 2 spells you didnt use in that rotation, so you wouldnt just qq qq the same person & actually need to weave the most efficient uses of spells for ur situation, hwei seems a little wasted the way they released him.
