FiveM truly saved GTA 5. It really made it something of an enigma. Especially with all the custom race and RP servers. Rockstar really could have pulled some serious talent from the FiveM pool. Oh well. I truly have high hopes for GTA 6 because of FiveM.

@@jasperli Private servers have been trying to replicate great circuits since forever, but nobody made a Monaco that I liked. I stopped looking a couple years ago, and someone finally nailed it.

I wonder whether KZbin viewers will put two and two together from the chat talking about Monaco when we saw all the removed cars. That was a great half hour for content and nice to see this race again. I believe it's possible to have a proper race here, even with F1 cars. And I'd love to see the advertisement boards changed to fit within the lore of Gta. Great work all around, Broughy and the 8th Gear guys! (See, Flambe, I remembered.)

This is what I wanted Open Wheel to be like on GTA! The lack of speed on the vanilla GTA makes all the other performance you get feel like overkill and boring to race with.

I think this Cote D'azur circuit looks great. But given how 8th gear works, you need some form of "Parc Ferme", a place where every racer can go to leave the track after the race ends.... or the passive mode works too heheh

It's great to see the community projects improve so much while R* is trying to ruin GTA:O by (most likely) experimenting in advance for GTA 6. I believe the guys behind the server projects could envision a better arcade racing game than any other arcade racer on the market right now. I'm still just watching and not participating, but it does look very much enjoyable. :)

the servers have the mods, you dont use your own assets

server has its own addon cars you have to download while connecting, then you can spawn, customize and save any you want in freeroam, and for races there"s a selection set by the host. cars are automatically upgraded, but unless you have one saved for that model you get random visual parts

In theory any track you can rip a model of can be ported. Idk if Hockenhein is in Assetto Corsa (which is where this map, and the Nurburgring map on the same server is from)

Rockstar can't C&D this. Or, at least, they have no more right to C&D this than any other mod that _isn't_ distributing their assets. Kunos, on the other hand, could. Not that they would (AC maps have been ported to every game under the sun at this point)

I really hope whoever ported it asked for permission too, would be really shitty of them if they didn't Edit: checked the GTA5-mods page for what I assume is this map and it seems they didn't, since they credit the map to Kunos. Hope that was just a mistake since they ask in the mod description that people credit them if they're using their work, which would be very ironic if they were knowingly using someone else's work uncredited

If anyone could answer, how come vanilla open wheelers on FiveM have their KERS removed? Is it because the other F1s don't have KERS?

It's up to the servers to have whatever handling they want to so I'd guess most just don't like it. This car wasn't vanilla FYI, it's far too good for r* 😂

In PH's case, we didn't like the gimmick of it having KERS cuz it led to more crashes so we removed it

Let's bring it on over to a track that can be used by both you F1 "polite" racing fans and us fans of the beating and banging, Boys Have At It NASCAR: Daytona International Speedway, home of the 24 Hours of Daytona and the Daytona 500, comes to mind for the endurance crowd, while Circuit of the Americas (CotA) hosts both F1 and NASCAR's Cup Series. Both tracks would work, as would Watkins Glen International Speedway in New York.

While the video quality has increased a lot, the sound quality of Broughy’s voice unfortunately has deteriorated through this RTX Voice AI crap. In this video it is quite noticeable, Broughy sounds heavily nasal with an underlying robotic vibe. Much like a bad phone call and very annoying. This is present in pretty much all videos in spring/summer and I have seen other comments mentioning it. When only the window is open the sound really was much better without this RTX Voice. And when Broughy turned the AC on only sporadically it was also much better than permanent AI distortion. When the AC is running... well a streamer should not have a noisy monobloc AC in the first place. Does Broughy know about split AC? They are permanently installed and have the compressor in the outside unit, being nearly inaudible on the inside. Tbh it does not feel good for a viewer when a professional streamer does not value the viewers enough to install a noise-free AC. And this is a long time watcher and former Twitch subscriber writing.

Oh I know about permanent AC installations. I even had someone come out to the house to give me a quote to get one installed. And I simply do not have the thousands of pounds required to get it done. RTX Voice isn't turned on in most spring/summer videos though. In actual fact I purposefully turn it and the AC unit off when it comes time to do Random All races or Gfreds, which make up the bulk of stream content that ends up on KZbin, in order to have the audio be as good as it can be. It's only in situations like this for extra races where it might be on because I can't have it off all the time, and a race ends up being good enough to end up here regardless. Personally I don't think the mic quality is too bad when using it. Although not optimal, it's certainly watchable, and every time I ask about it on stream nobody has a problem. Contrary to what you say as well there are very few comments about it in videos when it's turned on. It's at least better than not doing anything at all which in those situations is really the only alternative. Considering I've actually looked into other AC solutions, am constantly conscious of how the audio is on streams, and actively turn all of it off for the best sound quality for the bigger races we do even though the temperature will be unbearable by the end of the race, I think it's a little disingenuous to say I don't value the viewer experience.

I am a bit behind with the videos, I realised after my comment that there are more and more videos with perfect voice quality from this summer, which is nice. From last year I honestly had the impression it was always present there. (In fact we, I watch with a buddy mostly.) We have a very good pair of active PC speakers, that might intensify the problem, as it is said good speakers reveal problems in recordings more. Thus it is maybe bothering us more than other viewers. After your comment I have to admit that, even if the result is not optimal, you in fact are exerted about this topic. Let me emphasize again, that we never had a problem at all with any noise when your window was open, but even there RTX Voice was audible and far worse (in our opinion of course).
