7:20 That Hwo is a Raijin looking like a red ranks Hwo player. I just got demoted from Fujin yesterday after losing 3 times to some crazy players, and I play nothing like that dude. Wonder how he made it that far.

I am ~Fujin too and struggle a lot 😂 I play too Little to know all matchups I guess and I am Old, from one side I play Since Tekken3, but several hours a month is not enough and Tekken 8 is too fast 😂 and changes faster than I learn too

You can do it! You have to get REALLY objective but you can continue to grow in this game without sacrificing every other area of your life. Just pick SOMETHING to build on every day (your char tech, MUs, execution,neutral,punishment,combos,poking,movement,spacing,offensive/defensive stepping,there are literally many to choose from) and pick a new topic the next day or (preferably) continue to flesh out the topic from the previous day. It doesnt take hundreds of hours once you TRULY understand the game and how it works. Consistency is the most important thing imo (ESPECIALLY in ranked, thats the only thing ranked is truly good for imo). Just for reference...I have a full time comission sales job, am married with a 3 & 4 yr old daughter and son that I am the sole provider for (wife stays at home) and I just hit TK w Hwo (got a Shaheen at Kishin but Ill have him there within a few days). Im just saying all that to say YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!!!

If you got to fujin then you are solid. I’m 40 I’ve played casually mashing my way through the game since tekken 1. Started taking the game seriously and working on learning it inside and out March last year. Got to red rank and my hands broke (got trigger finger) I think I have pretty bad arthritis 😂 was a pad player so when 8 came out and the controller still wrecked me. I switched to arcade stick, and after about a month my movement and inputs improved enough to get to ruler. Hwos not easy he relies on offense and players can get away with not learning defence and neutral for a very long time. I’m Fujin now but the week I got it what is the week the patch came out. So the fact that I was heavily reliant on down 34 means I’ve got a reassess my game plan. I’m also playing Claudio teach me defence spacing in neutral as well as counters and launch punishes. I wanna get tekkenKing but I’m happy where I am now progress is progress.

Also, I currently sleep and play with compression gloves on my hands. I also have a wrist guard I wear at night. If I played more than three hours a day then I can’t play for two days because my hands fucking kill me. They don’t trigger anymore or at least haven’t since I got the stick but I’m aware that my life span on tekken is probably short. You Gotta do what you Gotta do, but to say your can’t do something when you’ve already come so far it’s bullshit. You’ve got this.

Actually until you get to tekken king or higher it’s pretty easy. Not everyone who’s good at combos is good at playing the game itself.

Very interesting take... Considering being at tekken king puts you at the top 5.5% of players I don't think you can call it "easy". I do agree though that being good at combos or execution does not really mean you're good in matches, though from most matches I've seen of Basuka he's pretty damn good in matches too, especially considering he hasn't been as active on t8 and it takes a lot of time to adapt to the aggressiveness

Right. Made it to tekken king earlier this week with drag and went into some player matches to learn matchups and people legit just unga bunga the game even at blues lol

Try jab strings into low crushes, 1,2,3, u/f 3+4 and 1,2,4, 3~4 work for me

after strugling from tekken 7 hwoarang , i was super happy i got an A tier character in T8 in my beloved Hwo, now im playing fucking azucena, they managed to make me feel like this version of hwo its worse than the T7 one...

@@basuka93 well, wasnt hwoarang finer before the nerfs ? We deserved to have a lil power arfter the shitty T7 treatment imo Also jun buffs in the same patch xDdddd
