Awesome channel, just turned up on me screen mate. I used to do the cables at Davie Mcallisters yard at B.O.D in Aberdeen, this was late 80s so the cable would go on a fire, overnight the plastic/rubber was gone, mostly then 3 bagging all day, armour steel, lead insulation, and the copper in the centre of that days world. It couldn’t happen now,the burning and the dinner and a bottle of juice and a daily wage or keep your days added up. I loved them days ,£20 quid a skip to paint n stencil could bang out a few of them. The McAllister family in Aberdeen and the N.E of Scotland, put a hell of a lot back into the community, hard days graft, dirty hands graced with crisp n clean notes 🏴✝️

Friend did it & plenty of profit in it, but costs can be high to empty/off load. You need a commercial waste licence. I'd say from experience (doing driving work for him) get a tipper truck. Saves lot of grief unloading & labour.

Pal owns a HUGE scrapyard here, his version is the Tatters - looked down on as they are, make the lions share of the profit in scrapping. "They get it for nowt, J, I pay them top dollar & have to re-sell it, while having massive overheads & hassle...they have no overheads - who is the Fool?" He kinda has a point,..

Remember 'rag & bone men' from when I was a kid. Gypsie ladies selling pegs, old dude used to come & sharpen knifes on his bicycle. Worked doing something very similar to this. Some of the pedantic neighbours & people getting angry when you are taking rubbish away. Getting passed off that someone is taking away rubbish that's been left out. Makes me annoyed just thinking about some of those fools.
