Great tips! You might have said it and I missed it, but if you are taking a truck and staying overnight, dont forget planning how to secure your treasures overnight at the hotel if you dont have a truckbed that is covered. If you had totes, you could take them inside of the hotel. Also, a way to cover the truckbed if it rains. Happy shopping! Cant wait to see what treasures you and Aunt Penny find!!

We went last year and brought the disposable wet wipes packets which were a must! You feed the need to disinfect your hands often since hundreds of people (from all walks of life) touch the same things you just touched. Also bring a bunch of Walmart bags for car trash, goodies and protecting breakables.

I love it! I’ve been doing the 127 sale for many years. I live in Florida and we do it as a vacation just my husband and myself. We are planning on starting on 7/27 we always have lots of fun. We never go looking for any certain things just whatever catches our eye ❤️ Go and have fun.

Wonderful tips!!! I'm a magnet to mosquitos! For the Pterodactyl mosquitos😆...I wear the coil insect repellant bracelets. They work! Also, maybe bring a small fan for your over nights, in your hotel room. Some don't have over head fans... The breeze and the noise might help with sleep. Some day, it would be so fun to do this. The World's Longest Yard Sale is my favorite! I'm so excited to do it again. Last year I started on Monday and shopped through Sunday. There are sales in almost every field along the highway.

Great information! I’ve been several times and absolutely love it. We did all 4 days one time from Kentucky to Alabama and boy were we exhausted but we got the greatest stuff. I always took a skinny little collapsible cart to drag my stuff around in if I was walking from one sale to another. Making a list of things you really want is definitely the way to go. Oh and snacks, always always take a bunch of snacks so you don’t get “hangry”. Hope y’all have a blast. Now I’m gonna go watch last year’s video again!

With taking a pick up without a topper, take a large tarp that you can cover goodies and Bungee cords for tie downs. Also, sandwiches that don't need to be kept cold (pb&j) or even cheese sandwiches for the cooler. That's always a good idea (saves sale $$ and is great for hunger and sugar lows). Along with the tarp idea carry an old table cloth to cover items in the vehicle this can save you a break in at a restaurant or hotel.

Keep in mind that Chattanooga and Crossville are in two different time zones. I'm not far from Chattanooga and I've yet to attempt any part of this yard sale. Every year my husband and I talk about going, but the heat and the traffic is what deters us. 🤷‍♀️

A tip: I have one of those cool neck things that you soak in water and it stays cool. You can refresh it so it lasts all day. Those really help! There are different kinds but mine just looks like a little neck tie scarf.

If you ever run out of money with a truck load of items set up a table on the road 😅flipping on road 101… I think you look for the non dealers sales for sure especially churches for sure look for ads from individuals and use them as pins on the map look for look for indicators of multiple family members those are clean outs. You should have seen it about 20 years ago. OMG the fields near Nocalula Falls were full of sellers. Every house has a yard sale. I stopped going several years ago because it went downhill. Early bird resellers and dealers really ruined it. They would show up during set up and buy up all the best stuff and by the official first day of the sale it was completely picked over. The last WLYS we went to all I came home with was some fresh veggies from a roadside stand. 😰

I always carry an atlas in my car, water, snacks, wool blanket, small shovel, etc but my concern is more for blizzards😂 rather than heatwaves 😂 but really ppl should be prepared for anything, can’t take anything for granted these days. And safety preparedness is VERY important! I better stop commenting not even a third way thru this video 😂

Great tips! Also, sunscreen left in a hot car for a couple of hours will separate and be no good. Big tube rendered useless! Says right on tube not to expose to high temps (huh?)for a long period of time. And that stuff isn't cheap. OR, Leave in a cooler.

Also take box of cornstarch for chaffed skin, tarps and tie downs for truxks. Take a wet bathxloth is a zip lock bag instead of wipes. Aloe vera for sunburns. I keep hand tools all the time. Lol. Dollar tree has the clear plastic ponchos 1.25. Yes stay hydrated as the young can get heat exhaustion too. I did in my early 40s at my son's baseball game. I knew when I quit sweating, I was in trouble. So just because your young, doesn't mean things can't happen.

Please wear sunscreen take care of your skin it is a organ too. I had stage 3 melanoma that spread to lymph nodes in my neck. We have too big yards sales here in KENTUCKY !!!! 127 yards sale and the 68 yard sale. Be careful and enjoy.
