I love watching Paul play. If I didn’t already own an HX Effects I’d head out and buy one after this. After years of being a pedal purist I rather like the HX. Just so many effects and a lot of fun.

Cool how the 4-Cable method on the Line 6 HX dirt effects can run the dirt pedals to the front of the amp while the mod effects like reverb, delay, chorus & etc; be ran in the effects loop at the same time

The HX replaced my huge ES-8 analog board. It’s a great tool to use in the studio.

I think that all the proud owners of the line 6 Variax guitar are wondering why we have been rewarded by once again the lack of the proprietary vdi input. Thank you ,I think once again all Variax guitar owners feel good about excluded from the ability to access the functionality of the Variax like with the higher priced line 6 gear . Hello everyone, my HX Effects does not work with my Engl Sreammer 50. The TRS jack puts some extra voltage on the amplifier, the lead led always has a dim light even when the channel is off. The polarity of one button is right and the other is inverted. Changing from EXP to Amp in the preferences also does not solve the problem, however, using EXP we can change the polarity (strange).There is also an increase in the gain of the amplifier. Using a Boss FS-6 pedal works fine. Also with Behringer FCB1010. I reported the problem to Line6 who replied: "Hi, HX Effects ability to control external amp channel and/or reverb switching has been tested with many popular amps and heads. Unfortunately this does not guarantee compatibility with all products. Note that, depending on the circuitry of the channel switching jack in the guitar amp used, the EXT Amp function may not operate as expected. Best regards, Technical Support Line 6 Support Europe" This is a copy/paste from the manual. Therefore, you buy the equipment and if you are lucky it works with your amplifier.

Can I plug in other stompboxes (like my drive pedals) and use the I/O’s on the back as a bypass looper to turn those other effects on and off with a single button press rather than having to tap dance?

Nick Miller absolutely! There are two effects loops on HX Effects. You can even turn multiple things on/off with one footswitch (up to 8 in one switch).

dealing with technical issues with my hx effects and hx stomp has made me loose confidence in Line 6 products in general. i'm about 8 hours deep this week in trouble shooting, watching videos, reading forums and trying every cable in the house to make this thing update. next I'm going to the store to buy $30 worth of cables to see if anything helps, I might have to bring a laptop to test cables in the store. I mean really, the supplied cable isn't up to the task or maybe its some other mystery problem that will go away if the wind changes or a random computer glitch makes it do the basics. withup dating might not even fix the original issue that I am updating for. really.

on the website it says I/R Support. I'm not familiar with Impulse responses but from what I understand that these are cabinet sims? if so can I run this staright to my DAW or PA and have a good cabinet sound? If so then I think I will buy this because my band is starting to record and when we play live I wanted to go straight to the board. I was thinking of getting the suhr ace or the Fridman Mic n mo but at the same time I needed a small pedal board but these seems to have it all.

The Helix LT would be better, you need some form of amp before going straight in.

I owned a Helix Floor. Sounded great but massive footprint and far too many components that could go wrong. Also it's only when I owned it I started to really feel that amp and cab modeling to anything but a speaker was weird. By that I mean I run a blues deluxe amp, having a preset with an AC30 run to that was, well counter productive. So happy when I saw this released. Sold footboard model and bought HX effects. It's utterly amazing

@frankjames2547 It's really not that difficult, had mine 5 days and can build presets pretty quickly. The inputs and outputs aren't a problem, and you don't have to use anything you don't need for your sound.

That giant heavy power adapter has the wrong angle and does totally NOT sit nicely on my pedalboard. Nor is it easy to replace with it's 3 ampere and 2.5mm plug. And that's by far not the only problem this overprized little toy has.
