I watched the complete conversation yesterday. I said it to Ian in his DMs, and I’ll say it here: this conversation is easily top 5 Janek Gwizdala Podcast episodes; your similarities are so very core to both of you, and your differences are so very complimentary. More than any other interview I can remember on this podcast, this feels like the musician’s version of actors on actors, and though it’s not often seen done, it’s also a brilliant analogue to a “directors on directors” conversation. Wonderfully done. I look forward to the possibility of you two doing something more in the future, as well as the three of you, including “Mr. Glove” himself. 🙌🔥

The octaver with a bit of drive and chorus is brilliant, Scott. I still have the old school, 10 pedals on my bass pedal board. I do have an old ZOOM B1on that amazes me to this day. I try to duplicate what the BIG BOARD does, and I can get pretty close. I really prefer some of the softer patches in the ZOOM. The new HEADRUSH technology is pretty awesome, and they have a new one that is around $500 that will blow almost everything outta the water. I'm waiting to see you review that one. The Headrush FLEX.

Companies don't endorse artists, artists endorse companies... An artist doesn't need a company's endorsement to be an artist, but a company needs an artist's endorsement to sell their product. @janekgwizdala10 ай бұрын
I'm definitely confident in my ability as a player after all these years to be able to get through a gig without the pedals. But in 1000's of gigs involving pedals, I'm hard pushed to remember a time when the entire board failed. I don't think it's ever happened. Maybe a patch cable goes after too much wear and tear from traveling, or one of your pedals goes on the fritz. But I always carry spare cables, and could re patch my board mid song if I had to, so it's not the end of the world.
@justinkoller659910 ай бұрын
Has either of you used a Source Audio C4 for synth and filters? I have one as the sole pedal on the FX loop, and always feel Im just on the tip of the iceberg with its possibilities, but it fills all the gaps left unsolved by the HX for me. Definitely a miss regarding low pass filters, and pitch tracking.

Do you use a powered peddleboard or the original stomp power adapter, I have a regular size board and a mini board and neither seem to support the stomps power needs
@janekgwizdala10 ай бұрын
I use the Cioks range of power supplies. Mainly the DC7 on the touring board, but also the Cioks 4 on smaller setups. I think it’s the most versatile power supply on the market as each output delivers 600ma and they do a Y cable for the stomp to be able to combine two outputs and get to the 1000ma the stomp requires. Never had an issue with it in years of use.

Out of interest, what is the reason for using the capo if you’re not going to use the saturation circuits. Is it purely for eq reasons?
@simonmaes45708 ай бұрын
Same question here. Are you using any of the stomps amp/ cab sims in conjunction with the gain/ saturation of the capo? Or using only the "fixed-gain clean preamp" option + eq in case the stomp is enabling amp/ cab sims? Can the capo saturation be used to juice up the stomps amp/ cab sims or is that just not working out? Thx for the feedback. Love the video, love the info you guys are sharing!

I wanted to go for HX Stomp but its routing options are too limited. I want to have two outputs - one without cabsim for onstage amp, second for FOH, you could do it by stereo splitting audio paths and putting cabsim only on R but then i will loose paraller path for cool efects mixing. Im planning to go gt1000 core, which has more routing options suitable for my case.
@darkstar44949 ай бұрын
Stomp has that exact wiring option. You send the pre cabsim signal out through the fx send, into your on stage cab or whatever. Post cabsim to FOH
@MateuszJagocha9 ай бұрын
@@darkstar4494 yeah but you need to split amp and cab blocks so it takes two blocks. FX send I think takes up additional block? And anyway I want to add external looper into FX loop
@darkstar44949 ай бұрын
@@MateuszJagocha splitting for fx send doesn’t take up a separate block, it goes between blocks. I don’t get the issue with anp + cab sim, if it takes 2 blocks that’s true no matter what right? Anyway you don’t want a hx so it’s moot.
@MateuszJagocha9 ай бұрын
@@darkstar4494 I'm just trying to resolve all issues before deciding. And I see two, when I use FX send for cab split then I will loose FX loop for external effect. Second amp + cab takes 2 out of 8 slots so 6 are left it might be sometimes not enough?
@darkstar44949 ай бұрын
@@MateuszJagocha right, if you use fx send for cab split then you lose your fx loop. Although you could split that signal and send one copy to your looped fx and back into the stomp. Just curious, what would you use the stomp fx loop for? Instead of putting your other fx in front or behind stomp? Stomp has 6 slots for fx or amp / cab sim. You can use the 6 however you want, and split your fx send from any point.
