My uncle was a chef with the first airborne. He had to parachute out of planes... march... carry and be able to use a rifle... everything any other soldier had to do. Cooks go where the fighting is because soldiers need to eat... so any hate is ridiculous.

@@justice7071 You are welcome. Are you military? My family has served during every generation since Jamestown, Va was founded and my ancestor headed up the Militia. EVERY job in the m8litary is important. The one person you really don't want pissed at you is the cook! You'll either be hungry or mysteriously come down with the trots. My dad was in electronics with the Air Force...and was in the Korean War. He helped build the communications towers and listening stations. My son-in-law is Navy... and he's in charge of ordering, storing, etc air plane parts. Both of them were still combat trained. Try being up in the Korean mountains building microwave stations and enemy soldiers skulking around. One of his buddies had his head cut off.

I get asked to cook for others often., but rarely does anyone cook for me. I love baking as well. One of my friends doesn't cook at all. Her husband does it and makes her sandwiches. 😂

@@justice7071 Awwww.... Well it is sweet of you to cook for them. I do not cook as much as I did when my husband was alive and now my kids are old enough that they cook. Now they call me to ask how to make this or that especially at holidays. The thing is I never measure anything or write down the recipes so I have to tell them how to figure it out. These are old family recipes and I was taught them without measurements either. I guess one day I should sit down and measure as I go and write them down. My son is a pretty good cook. At one time he wanted to study culinary arts and went to work in a restaurant kitchen. He's willing to work hard but the atmosphere there was really toxic. He was physically threatened several times. So he went into his second favorite interest... computers. And I believed him because even now if I go to that restaurant... you can hear them screaming at each other in the kitchen. It's crazy. We actually have a good culinary arts program at the high school where I teach. In the summers Tasha Mac (Chef La Tasha McCutcheon) comes and does summer workshops with our kids. Maybe you know of her? She was on Hell's Kitchen? She is an alumni of our high school.

It is a shock to me to hear that people put down a man for f being a cook. For YEARS men have been chefs!!! The biggest Chefs were always men!! It took years for women to get into the big culinary schools. Because it was thought that women couldn't stand up to the heat, continual standing for hours all just to cook. It must be the younger generation that are saying things cause us older people know how being a Chef really is. Someone online (I forget which site posted the service man's statement) but a soldier serving at the same time as Jungkook defended his position. He said that being a cook in the military was extraordinarily difficult work, including a lot of physical labor with heavy equipment in the kitchen, and a lot of stress due to needing to feed 3 solid meals to hundreds of hungry men at the camp. They often work a longer day than other men in the camp, so don't try to undermine his position in the camp! As a foodie, I'll bet Jungkook is as happy as a clam!

Don't worry JK, I purchased 3 Golden Albums (one of each color) and I still have them in a prominent place. I also purchased Golden on iTunes since I listen to music basically on my IPOD. BTW, I could care less about a photocard or anything else like that. I purchase other members' albums as well but only 1 unit. Jungkook is my bias and I am still binge listening to every song on Golden.

For what I saw online, it was the memorial which is a very important part of SK culture in regards to passed family members, not a funeral. Next thing is why people keep saying that been a cheff in the military means that you don't train or go to battle, there's different positions you can apply for in the military, this is obviously something he choosed. In the end, God forbid and he is drafted he will be required to be on the battle field, it's just that his main part for now within the Army would be the food for the soldiers, been a chef is not a demotion 😅😅

It is difficult to believe anything you hear or read about anything related to BTS at the moment. Just in case you didn’t know but most people have two grandmothers! So we know that he had a grandmother that died in 2018 so it would not be surprising if another died this year. I have seen no confirmation about it except for Facebook and you tube clips, but it could be that he was at his other grandmothers funeral or his grandmother who died in 2018’s memorial! Or the whole thing could be A1 produced who knows. The point is why talk about it? It is a personal and private matter, must we know every detail of their lives! As far as dumping albums, why all of a sudden is this being promoted in news? Especially targeting Hybe artists, timing is everything is it not, There is negative campaign against Hybe and its artists currently so it actually does not surprise me. Suga has recently said in his future albums all the cards will be inclusive in each album, I am not sure if J Hope’s was the same. It is the same thing American artists do as well and who at concerts give away CD’s with merchandise purchases or ticket selling. The industry is renowned of thinking of ways for people to buy or get free albums. This is news re the albums because it is part of a negative campaign only. Being a cook in the army is not a demotion it is a choice. Everyone knows Jungkook’s love for cooking so why not choose this! As someone has already pointed out most Chefs are men! He will also continue to have further training like Jimin as they BOTH have just finished their KCTC training which is extremely gruelling. I think Jimin and Jungkook will do their military service like Jin Quietly and out of the spotlight. It is their time to live as they want and experience new things, interact with non entertainment people and not have cameras glaring at them constantly.

As a daughter of a retired Officer and niece of a colonel there is One thing I want to tell the unenlightened people, the chef’s position in the military is greatly valued and everyone wants to be on their good side 😊 On top of this you should know that no matter your job at the military when called upon everyone is required to go join the fight. THUS, everyone gets to do the mandatory training, not once but on regular basis as everyone else.

I dont know about Korea but in the US many families will hold Memorial Services long after internment or cremation at a time that would allow more folks to participate and even longer during the pandemic. Also, dont people have more than one set of grandparents? Just a thought. Peace

I don't know if this applies to S.Korean army but in other countries where enlistment is also obligatory usually the soldiers take a leave before being discharged .This may be a few days to a month ,depending on how well they served during their enlistment.Perhaps Jin bcz is discharged in a few days he is on this kind of leave!

Then there’s prep work, then the clean up, not to mention complaints from picky eaters or people who just like to whine. I remember at the beginning of his military service, it was reported that Jungkook suffered an injury during training. Unfortunately, I don't remember the details, only that the trauma was not harmless. It's possible that Jungkook became a chef because of this trauma. Either because he couldn't train or because he decided to protect his leg from further damage. After all, when he comes out, he'll have to be able to dance. As for how weak Jungkook is, why do people forget that he's been training to box for years?

I'm super happy that JK is cooking...at least I know he'll be safe and not have to do anything dangerous. He's a brilliant and strong person, and we all know he'd kick butt as a soldier, and did well in his training. Bottom line, the soldiers have to eat. Obviously men are primarily in the kitchen because there was a time females were not allowed. Also, these people belittling him must come from cultures where men don’t go in the kitchen. In the US men who cook are often called chefs even if they never attended culinary school. Women are called cooks. You see images of dad at the grill cooking during the back yard barbecue. Where as I am a female and I am the one who does the grilling. He has not been busted down because rank not job is used in a demotion process.

It is so sad to see JK'S albums being thrown out! I live on $1300.00 a month and I was only able to buy one of our members album, and I chose V's for my birthday! I feel like crying when I see JK'S albums thrown out! I would love to have one of JK'S album! Don't they know to never harass the person who makes your food! JK said he went to the kitchen because he would be able to take more time off to spend with V. Honestly, I think JK is fine!! The Military is something he actually wanted to DO...sooner or later, he understood that if they (BTS) did not get the exemption, they all had to enlist. I'm just praying he did not get injured, but with Jin & Hobi being the instructors, I would say JK was safe during training. If he is doing cooking for the whole camp or whole unit - man, I bet he is loved and well-liked, who doesn't "kiss up" to the chef, lol Maybe...our Kookie wanted bigger food portions or more meat hehehee - I would not be surprised, that he planned to be a Cook. We keep forgetting, Kookie is super practical and if he didn't forsee any big advantages in "fighting"...he figured, learning how to cook is something he can use for the rest of his life!!
