Great to hear a Qnap tutorial that I can understand from an English speaker. One thing I didn't find out about during this talk is why backup/sync will not see normal folders.

HBS is good, but when I configured my 2 10Gb NICs to port trunking to double the bandwidth, HBS3 failed and the remote NASs could not be found. Any comment?

Thanks for your video. I want to back up my new QNAP NAS in RAID 0 with 2 drives mirroring my big PC drive and want the drive to purge any deleted files I delete from the main PC, rather than keeping to have loads of copies of removed files, which is the best software for doing this, and being smart enough to detect changes quickly and update the NAS. I am trying Netbak replicator as that is what the website recommends under the TS-x53D model I bought. What is recommended?

QNAP UK I figured it out by using q sync but thanks for your reply

Wonderful video. Quick question. Currently, I use Cloud Drive Sync to sync files with dropbox. And now, Cloud Drive Sync is no longer getting support & updates. If I want to use HBS3, do I have to re-sync files from scratch? Thanks!

Really great webinar. We are using Qnap at my organisation, and soon will back up to the cloud. This made it less difficult to understand.

It is not clear to me whether HBS 3 can perform directly from QNAP device in one country to another QNAP device in another country. If so, how to go about it directly without a cloud service. Perhaps employing Web DAV or Remote FTP protocols? If any info, please point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

Hi All, appreciate that this video is a couple years old now, but I've got an old QNAP nas myself. it's the TS-659 pro II running 4.2.6. is HBS 3.0 available on this version? thanks

Thank you very much for your video, I have a big problem. I use Nas1 as a backup stream camera and I want to sync Nas1 to Nas2 as the second backup storage, but I received a fail Error, I think it is because of stream recording in Nas1. How can I solve this problem?

Great video. Thanks! Quick question: when it comes to the two-way sync (NAS to NAS, NAS to external HD, NAS to Cloud), I heard that files can get corrupted because of the two way communication flow. Is this correct? What do you recommend to avoid accidents like that? Thanks

Why is it that with HBS, when creating a sync job, you can only have a single folder pair to sync ? If you want anything more, you have to create additional sync jobs. A new sync job for every folder pair. But, if you create an Active Sync Job, you can have multiple folder pairs.

You can create multiple folder pairs on the same sync job. I’m currently doing this now
@DavidM20023 жыл бұрын
@@metaltyphoon I'd love to know how. I can do it on an Active Sync, but not a regular one way sync.

Great video. Very detailed and helpful. Can someone please tell me the difference between a One-Way Sync job and a standard Backup/Restore job? I believe one uses RSync and the other the RTRR but what are benefits or disadvantages of each? I'm not looking to have versioning of my backups, but I do want to be able to easily restore something (within a limited time) in the event it accidentally gets deleted or is corrupted. Thoughts?
@AndrewCortesi4 жыл бұрын
@@QNAPUK Thanks for answering my question. Yes, this would be one QNAP to another QNAP. By RTRR, do you mean the section labeled "Services" and then you select "RTRR" OR do you mean the Backup/Restore section where you create a new backup job? In HBS3 it's not clear to me why there's 2 different backup options that seem to do the same thing.

Is there a way to see which files are currently being transferred? In the old backup version I was able to see this.

@@QNAPUK Thanks for the reply. I've also noticed that after doing a 2-way sync with Dropbox (over 1Tb f data), once it finished, there's a folder on my NAS that is supposed to have a file in it, yet in Dropbox the file exists. Is there something I can do to force HBS3 to download the file from Dropbox?
@albaprime4 жыл бұрын
@@QNAPUK Thanks that worked :)

If folders are renamed, does HBS3 upload the newly renamed folder and it's contents to Dropbox or is it smart enough to detect that it's just a rename? And conversely on Dropbox servers. I've just noticed that after renaming a folder, it's uploading the contents but it's hard to tell without seeing what files are currently being transferred.

@@QNAPUK Hello, thank you for your research and your answer, can i save the VirtualMachine i create in proxmox (windows, linux ..)? I can also create a backup synchronization of these VMs with the possibility of incremental and / or complete and make a recovery plan from a local version or a version on a cloud ? my project would be to use a Qnap TS-h886 www.qnap.com/en-uk/product/ts-h886 Do you have any recommendations for the brand and type of HDD / SSD to use HBS is free and include with the Qnap NAS ?
