This was a long video guys. Normally I would have split this into 2 separate videos but I really wanted to get it all in 1 for our HUGE MILESTONE that WE completed. I couldn’t have had any of this success without all of you that are watching. I hope you all enjoy the build, it was literally almost 12 hours of footage from the 2 ish weeks it took me to start the build with the 80cc for Purple Nightmare to come full circle to building and installing a fully built and ported to the hills MINARELLI. Stay with me as I tune it and get it ripping right and build a real pipe for it to pull every ounce of power out of it to see what my built Minarelli motor will make!!!

Happy New Year Johnny !!! 🤔 I've been thinking more about legal cheap transportation loophole alternatives & think I found a solution for travel in cold & rain....If you get bored, look up "riding lawnmower DIY weather enclosures" They sell removable enclosures but are flimsy & expensive. So lot's of people diy make their own. A few turned out really good. They turned John Deere riding lawnmowers into mini looking tractors 🚜 with a headed cab enclosure painted yellow & green to match the mower & added a plow or slow blower attachment on front for winter. So you can mow in the summer, then plow in the winter. Plus you can pull a larger trailer & move heavier things than you can with a bike.. I wanna find a good used $500 mower. (I seen a good one recently for only $100 but was sold 1st day it was posted) Then build a cab for it & hopefully gear it to go 25-30mph while still able to mow at normal speeds..Keep an air pump on board & run the tires at lower pressure when going fast to soak up bumps.. That way I can ride around in a heated cab in winter & maybe make a few $$$ snow blowing driveways & mowing in summer. The trailer could carry chainsaw, weed trimmer, bush clippers, tools,etc...To make a litte landscaping cash on the side. I'm thinking that might be my best until I can/if I can, ever afford to get my van on the road.

you should cut the skirts on the transfer ports
@JMB676
@JMB676 Жыл бұрын
@@fabiotiburzi yeah I seen someone else do that and to be honest it doesn’t make sense to me. When the transfers are being used (meaning having air forces up them) the piston is on the down stroke which literally is the same shape and in almost exactly the same spot as those walls so they are not in the way or blocking flow in anyway. And when the piston is up and the transfers aren’t being used if you remove them then you are raising the case volume the slightest bit. So I don’t see the benefit of doin it and to me I only see a downside if I did it. That’s why I left them.

I got that one on Amazon. It was like 50-60 bucks I believe. It hooks directly into my flex shaft rotor tool that hangs in my cabinet and I can switch between that and my extra large chuck head that I have for it to accept 1/4 inch burr shafts, in case you don’t know most burrs for dremel tools are all 1/8 inch shafts. I wanted the 1/4 ability so I could buy the extra long 1/4inch shaft burrs I use cause it helps with one piece cylinders cause I use to do A LOT of yd100 motors only at one point.

@@MotorizedChuck yes they do but I’m actually not trying to to use a stuffer since it’s not the most efficient way to do it. Hey Johnnie's Motorized Bicycles thanks. Why do you drill oil holes in the piston wrist pin landings? The wrist pins do not swivel in the piston. The piston swivels only on the con-rod bearings. 🤔 By the way, nice welding promo 😂
@JMB676
@JMB676 Жыл бұрын
There’s are not an interface fit and I found many wrist pins be ruined by no oiling which ends up in a lot of slop and destruction of the motor. I have shone this in many other videos what happened when there is no oiling to this area. So because of that I have started to drill every motor out now with a few of the same things no matter which motor I’m workin on because they are just reliability issues as far as I’m concerned. Since I started doing this I have never had an issue again with a wrist pin being destroyed.

I'm commenting prematurely because I need to work on my junk. Lol. I wouldn't use that china doll head you cleaned. I hate using them. I almost always be replace them with a high compression head because using that head makes it hard to upgrade your spark plug. An NGK can hit your no piston. I'd use the head they sent you. It " at least," made for that cylinder. I haven't seen the porting yet so I probably don't need to say this but open your transfer windows below your base and definitely port your intake wider. I think it's approximately .35 mm off of the centerline. Making it roughly be 70.mm. It can be +. I look forward to seeing the rest of the video. Sorry I commented early.

You noticed the score pattern on the piston and cylinder walls.Did you notice that those score marks are right where the cylinder stud holes are?Those thin spots of the cylinder walls are going to get hotter and be less stable than thicker areas of the cylinder wall.That pattern of galling is not unique to your cylinder.I ran several cylinders both iron and aliminum and all galled the piston and cylinder walls in the same places yours did.I don't believe that any amount or type of oil or extra oil holes is going to fix the galling.Extra skirt clearance to allow for expansion is the only solution.Bad thing is that the extra clearance increases piston slap noise and decreases long term durability.I hope you prove my thoughts incorrect and have better success than I did with the minarelli.
@JMB676
@JMB676 Жыл бұрын
Only time will tell but I haven’t had. Any issues yet but to be honest I run mostly iron sleeve cylinders and I am veryy custom to letting the cylinder warm up properly before I get on it and really tag its ass. Not letting these or iron sleeves get up to temp properly is the biggest issue who find with any of them. And as far as those dimples I can only hope and see how they perform if at all to help cushion with air and oil.

2 questions Johnny I over ported 2 cylinder exhausts. A friend says I can use JB weld original to put back material. As he repairs high end motorcycle engines. Rough up the area, heat it with a blow dryer and the same with the mixture. I tried harbor freight version and haven't checked it yet. Can you do a video on repairing cylinders and case match mistakes?? What's your experience with this and tests?
@JMB676
@JMB676 Жыл бұрын
I have never tried repairing an exhaust port with it, I have thought about it but jb weld only can withstand about 500 degrees for about 10 (I have tested this) and will catch on fire with a lil more heat or just and open flame (this is how I remove any type of epoxy from any metal object cause epoxy/jb weld will just burn right off. So I say that to say I do not think that it would work and even worst I think it would last just long enough to give a false sense of security and then either burn up and do no harm and blow out the exhaust (best option) or burn up and break off and cause a catastrophic damage to the motor. So in case it’s not clear I DO NOT recommend doing it.
@JMB676

Hello. I don't understand, you in America make very good engine crankcases, crankshafts and everything else that goes with it. You can put a cylinder of the well-known Kuba brand on it, which really develops power and is durable. Please don't buy Chinese junk products, your joy of the low price will be short lived, and only the Chinese and maybe some middlemen will benefit from it.

Ok after reading up on several phantom feeds, not at all a Yamaha clone. A Stihl ms460 cylinder with an ms380 piston. Higher quality replacement pistons are Meteor ms460 which you will need to use 2 base gaskets or the Hyway ms380 which should give you approx, .96" squish and whereas the 460 is nearly 1mm taller. Both of these pistons are domed and higher quality replacement
@JMB676
@JMB676 Жыл бұрын
@@MotorizedChuck yeah the Minarelli cylinder is from a scooter with a completely different port profile anmany other differences just from looking at them next to each other and the ms460 cylinder is from a chainsaw also having may differences between the two and running completely different ways and make power in very different ways. As a whole they really share both with each other other then they are both 2 stroke cylinders.
