This was a great one Gabriel! So many interesting vistas of Hyderabad. The best part was the view of the blue skies, indicating limited air pollution, which sadly afflicts so many Indian cities. Thinking of Bangalore for example. Southern India has really wonderful places to visit, and relatively less pollution than the north. Have never been there, but on my bucket list now. Thanks!

I was up there almost two weeks, which is about how long I was thinking of staying. But if the weather had been better I probably would have stayed longer and explored further. And yes the rough roads really wear you down. At some point you end up thinking: "It's a long, brutal trip from here back down the mountains. And I'm thinking of going another day uphill, then have to come back down the same road to get back here, only to have another long day or two of winding roads after that? Hmmm, maybe not in the mood for it."

Since there is a sizable population of Muslims who speak Urdu, Hindi is understood by a lot of people there. Spoken Urdu is quite similar to Hindi although you may not understand every word spoken.

The silver polished circular structure and the golden flame--- I think are the Telangana Martyrs Memorial. Also called as Gun Park is a monument built for 369 students who died during the 1969 agitation for a separate Telangana state. Telangana Martyrs Memorial day is observed on 2 June every year in all the districts of Telangana State. It is situated opposite to the Public Gardens, Hyderabad. Wikipedia. Can someone else confirm this? I love your travel log.. you do just the right amount of showing what things cost and the highlights. Your turn-around time on videos is amazing and appreciated. Carnatic music is the most complex music on this earth. in the state of Tamil Nadu there are many beautiful architecture made of granite rock thousands of years old been through natural calamities and still standing in one piece.

I would say not much different in any older parts of the towns and cities, a city called Indore is considered one of the cleanest cities in India, few years down the road, India will transform to world standards for pollution control and cleanliness.

All the thanx to Andhra people... They are the main reason for the development of Hyderabad. They invested their brains, money and hard work while meri pyari telangana brothers were busy in dharnas, parties, sharab and ayashis.

@@gangarapusrihari5941 unfortunately... That's not the case bro... It's we who are working as cheap labour in Andhra companies. At the time of partition... Many Andhra people migrated to other regions. Some friends of mine who are working in some big companies as HR or middle level mgmt has one common complaint. There were n no. Vacancies... N no. Job aspirants from telangana... But hardly even 5% of them are as worthy as Andhra or other states candidates. Our forefathers no this fact very well. While annexing telangana in ap ... They raised objection that Andhra people are more intelligent, more educated and more rich and powerful than us... So there was a possibility that they oppress us Do you know what is meant by cheap mindset... Blinding by ego and unable to accept facts. I'm not saying u to accept someone's supremacy... But accept the truth and try to learn good in others. Jai Hind

The land that keeps delivering! Do you ever go to the Punjab? Gurdwara explorations? Most famous the Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple) in Amritsar. You can always eat a meal of no cost and can also stay at the Gurdwara you do not need to be Sikh. Have a lovely journey as we head south!

It takes a lot of personal energy to get around in India on foot with a camera. It occurred to me it would be useful to buy a very small compass so you can get your bearings as you walk the streets of these cities. I recall when I was in Mumbai in 2007, five minutes after leaving the hotel I had no idea where the hotel was. The compass would help in this fascinating country.
