Hyderabad to Goa Roadtrip | Via Amboli Ghat | December 2022 | 2 Infinity

This is a video documentation of our journey from Hyderabad to South Goa, via Solapur - Sangli - Kolhapur - Amboli Ghat -Varca. We took this journey between 28 December, 2022 - 2 January 2023.
This is not the most conventional route to visit South Goa, as the route is little longer than the very popular, Hyderabad - Humnabad - Vijapur - Bagalkot - Chorla /Anmod Ghat - South Goa. The reason for us choosing this route was primarily this route was much safer when traveling in night time, as its mostly 4 lane expressway and the to experience the beauty of Amboli Ghats. This route would take anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour more than the other conventional routes, but the quality of road has been pretty good throughout, including the ghat sections (except few little patches).
Total Toll paid in this route was INR 615.
Few tips that we want to suggest if you are planning to take this route to North/South Goa via Solapur - Sangli - Kolhapur - Amboli Ghats
(1) There are several Dhabas till Zaheerabad, so you can plan your dinner break accordingly.
(2) Carry munchies, snacks and sufficient water , as very few shops I found open at late hours.
(3) The stretch from Hyderabad to Solapur is in pretty good condition, except few diversions and bumpers in Omerga - Naldurg sections.
(4) We felt absolutely safe travelling on this route as we found plenty of public vehicles, police jeeps and dhabas open at very late hours. Same cannot be said about Humnabad - Vijapura - Bagalkot route, which we traveled few years back at late night. So we intentionally avoided that route.
(5) There is a shortcut route to Nipani, via Chikodi, which you can avail if you are not looking for breakfast. We chose to go via Kolhapur, as there are several good restaurants on that route, where we could have breakfast and use the restroom.
(6)Amboli ghat was in pretty decent state as on December 2022, except for few patches. Beware of Google maps trying to optimize the route, as it might lead to horrible roads.
(7)Too much monkeys in the Ghat road, and saw few of them attacking people carrying food.
(8)Enjoy the beauty of the Ghats and please do not litter.
(9)Beware of speed guns near Panjim city, try to drive in the recommended speed limits.
(10) Petrol is pretty cheap in Karnataka and Goa (when compared to Telangana) , so you can plan to refill accordingly.

@@twoinfinity I have watched that already but we are planning on take Solapur-Sangli route. Just wanted to know which bad road are you taking about so that we can avoid that or get the latest from friends before we start.

@@shaileshjain6149 If you are taking Solapur-Sangli route then the best ghat road to take will be Amboli ghat. The bad route (ghat section) we took on our last trip was Tinai Ghat, which was under construction then.

@@sekharbabubonthagorla5608 The route we took to Amboli Ghat was good for 90% of it, no issues there. At various junctions you will find route marked on boards, do follow them, you will be fine. The bad patch we encountered was hardly for 2 kms or so. Road work was going on. Chorla route was in very bad state with big craters, and the Anmod Ghat (we took this route on our return journey) was good, but once we entered Bhimgad Sanctuary, it was a nightmare. So don't worry about those mini off-road patches, and enjoy amazing views of Amboli ghats!
