Unless you live in water it wouldn't be the most reliable way to deal with mosquitos. The mosquito being eaten in this video, hence the title, is a larva. Mosquitos lay eggs in water. Hydras would be a reliable means of dealing with mosquito reproduction because they would eat the mosquito larva, but they aren't that great at attacking things that aren't in the water. You would be better off planting garlic around your house. Mosquitos and several other types of insects hate the smell of garlic. Also, garlic kills mosquitoes. If you don't want to put in the effort of growing your own garlic, you can also spray garlic water around your house every day.

There are glandular cells and flagellated musculo epithelial cells present in their endodermis layer. The glandular cells secrete proteolytic enzymes and the flagellated ones, along with the contraction of the body cavity, helps in the circulation of the food and thus helps in mechanical digestion.

Does the tentacles behave like cnidoblasts?
@platyperri3 жыл бұрын
Yes. As far as I know, the tentacles have the specialised cells called nematocysts which inject neurotoxins into the body of the prey to paralyse it. Also, in reply to your other comment, they do follow intracellular digestion. Since they only have one opening, that is the mouth, they eat and excrete the wastes through the mouth only. This is only as per what I know from school, so I might be wrong..
