I'm thinking this Hive could be based on the one from the show Agents of SHIELD. In the comics Hive was created by Hydra, but opening a portal to Maveth is original to the show, as well as the whole idea of Hive as Hydra's "god" is something that this map and the show both lean into.

I would like to point out that in all honesty the art team doesnt need to do much. For characters, skins, maps. They have so much content to pull from. But even with that, they still go the extra mile. Its refreshing seeing them go so far for things that realistically they dont need to. Its genuinely insane. And i love seeing it.

@@Morfe02 I honestly missed the aurora borealis. The thing that i didn't really like was that it looked to me like a relatively bland industrial complex. Sure the colors were nice but other then that, it looked to me like just a generic factory of some sort. The one thing that stood out though was the giant tentacles coming out of the cliff wall, which i thought was really cool. But in this video the map looks a lot more varied and interesting then i thought. Part industrial complex, part brutalist base, part ancient but high tech temple. I like how it looks very varied but still somehow coherent between all of these elements.

@@AndreyKrichevsky yeah i mean i was thinking the same with the grey industrial color but the use of lava-fire with the grey gives a look of HEAT that is dynamic in design not something "static" and of course the second part of the map was the rune ruins part But the best part THE BEST by far of the map showcase is the conference room, the gold statues and the marble statues FOR ME it looks like exactly as Hellboy Headquarters from Guillermo del Toro movies. Not sure if is the statues but i would say is the use of red with common objects + alien statues
