Your Baja is looking good! Maybe when you are done you can help me with mine, its set up for class 9 so it's a lot less work.

I was told early on in my baja build by several people (whom seemed to know what they were talking about?) that in their opinion, bump stops don't work well in bugs because their relativity light compared to a truck and in their opinion bump stops are for heavier vehicles. Are they right? I have no ideal but they have much more experience than me so I went without them myself. But your pan, swing arms, a-arms front of cage are looking awesome! looking forward to the bypass video!

I tend to agree, and for that reason I went with the shorter bump stops. They were only to protect against those really hard landings. I do know they work/are needed based on the @dougbugbuilder hard landing video. With all that said the switch to bypass shocks will work better than the bumps and give me more control over the shock tuning including full bump. I’m excited 😊

Set us up for disappointment saying the video wouldn't end the way we wanted it, but then gave us a gangster cliff hanger with an even better video on the way! Out of curiosity, what was the argument that convinced you that you needed EBPs up front?

I have no clue what I’m doing… does it show 🤣

I wanted bypass shocks up front for better tuning but I couldn’t justify the cost. A fellow Baja enthusiast said, “I got you”

IMO you don’t need anything more than a well setup 2.5” coilover with the right valving and a foam bumpstop. If you wanted to spend more money and really have a good bumpzone get a king 2.5” IBP coilover.
@MiahsBug3 ай бұрын
I agree. The budget mindset put me down the path of lower cost coilovers. Then wanting a progressive bump zone I went down the bump stop path. I am now installing bypass shocks because the price was right.
