Multimeter to ✔current. Higher lumens make it brighter. The higher the Kelvin the bluer the light. I just did this in my garage, I had 6/4 bulb florescent fixtures like you, and I did a 2-bulb led conversion 5000K, 5500 lumens and kept the fixtures that were already screwed to the joists. Now I can find things I drop on the floor without using a flashlight. Good upgrade.

My 3 car garage has 3 single 60W bulb fixtures, I bought one of those 5 blub adapters and used 5 9W LED bulbs (45W total) in each fixture. Made a huge difference in my garage lighting.

That’s awesome. I would have tried that but I really hated my fixtures and just wanted them gone.

Those are the same lights I have in my shop, they've been there for 5 years, no problems at all, they provide plenty of light. In my upcoming truck videos you'll see I've mounted on inside the roof of the cab for a work light😅 they work great for that too!

That’s awesome to hear. I had the fish tank light hanging in the bug for a while. I’m very happy with these cheap lights.

26 x 36 feet with 2 rows of 8 foot fixtures. Using the 2 row 8 foot LED's lamps. The best thing that I have done for lighting in the playroom/shop. I already had the old Flour. fixtures so I just rewired the fixtures an installed the 2 row led fixtures.
@MiahsBug8 күн бұрын
That sounds like a great setup. I wish I had a large shop, I would definitely use these LED lights.

@MiahsBug I went from two 4 foot florescent lights (half what yours were) to 6 4-foot LEDs. And it's pretty nice, but I'm putting another 6 in (two more rows). But seriously, looks awesome

Dude you know you can buy direct replacement LED bulbs the will go in your old fixture you just remove the ballast and starter twist the wires together the bulbs were like $112.00 for 24 48” bulbs. A electrical contractor turned me on to them super bright mine have been up four years now!

Love the tape lock out tag out method…. Pretty sure I saw that in an osha video 😂 That’s a huge difference with those lights. Those old T12 bulbs you had are dim and terrible imo. I need to upgrade myself but eh lol
@MiahsBug9 күн бұрын
The tape lockout is an effective means for stopping a light breeze from powering on the circuit. I wish I would have upgraded a long time ago since the cost was so minimal.

Why did you not use the fixtures that you already had and rewire them and buy the 4 foot LED lamps for them? The Led lamps are sold with the different ends on them to fit the fixtures that you have.

Where does one learn this "flick-n-touch" technique? You know you live in Cali when there is ZERO attic insulation 😅😮😅

The “flick and touch” has been passed down for generations. My father taught me and I am teaching my children. The trick is to live long enough to pass it down.
