Nice job with the dipper ram seal but unlucky with the slew ram seal, interesting machine that Hymac (slew setup especially) we never see them round here (we're 3 miles from JCB's plant and we buy some redundant stock when it's sold off ---- so you can guess what we generally see), was most interested in that piston/seal arrangement, will remember this vid for future reference, with the retainer for the pin couldn't you just bend some rod in an "L shape, cut a thread on the short leg to go through the boom arm hole and have as a loose retainer to the pin, or is the pin subject to significant side loads?

Thanks Steve! I was thinking of a set up like that could work, Been past the Rocester works of JCB and I was amazed the different types of machines they had in there from other manufacturers over the years, all to see what the competition is doing, I’ve seen one photo of the yard and the prototype JCB crane was in there! It caused a stir reading the book when somebody said they saw JCB had a crane prototype but omitted to say it was from 40+ years ago! HYMAC are a strong machine but that’s comes at a price with the additional weight which made them heavy on soft ground, look like 4 wheel drive but they’re not, now if they could have brought a 4 wd version out all those years ago things might have been very different🤷‍♂️ Thanks for your support and hope you continue to enjoy our channel👍

Danke! Ich verbrachte ein Jahr in Deutschland mit Arbeit in einem Ort namens Rheine und Ochtrup, während sie bei der Windhoff Bahn einen Zug für Großbritannien bauten, ein wunderschönes Land, in dem ich meine Zeit dort sehr genossen habe
