Well, the most of the cheap tools are ok when you're a private individual who use it only sometimes to build a closet or something like that. When you're a professional, you don't want to work with it, believe me. 😉

@@Ben_Dover_911 Oh, I agree! When you're not a pro, buy the best you can afford. Too many people think they need pro tools for home use. I get a ton of my tools through Amazon and haven't regretted anything but the bearing puller I bought. I've done quite a bit of car repairs with the best I could afford.

Often, what you're paying for are the things other than performance per dollar. You have to look at warranty, how things are designed, reliability over time, features, and support. There's usually little sense in always aiming for the most expensive or cheapest option. Somewhere in between is always a good idea.

@@Ben_Dover_911 Exactly, I work in furniture factory and when you have to screw 200 screws, it's really difference if you are using wurth bits and screws or some noname china, it's not only about material, but also shape is very important, wurth bits have very special shape that screw really holds on it perfectly and it's super easy to put it into wood. The same with other tools, work as a CNC operator, so I also need a lot of metal working tools and when you have to remove some very tighten screw, you can use wurth or some other good tools with no problem or you use some noname china and you will need one bit for one screw, it doesn't survive more than removing one screw. 🙂 With drilling bits, it's even more complicated because it's not only about material but mainly about quality of sharpening from factory. Some drilling bits can be ok material, but it still won't make any holes because it's poorly sharpened from factory and you have to send it to tool sharpening person even when it's brand new.

@rya3190
@rya3190 Ай бұрын
That makes sense. They broke uniformly, telling me they were tempered correctly. The noname kinda tore, probably due to uneven tempering/forging.

I work in furniture factory as a CNC operator (so I need both, woodworking and metal working tools) and I am the most satisfied with Wurth tools, the best ratio hardness/fragileness/price. Sometimes you have to fix something on machine and to remove some old screw can take whole day while using noname chinese crap. Polish tools are mostly ok for that price, almost all basic things like hammers, hand saws and stuff like that is made in Poland these days, better than China and cheaper than Germany. It's sad that here in Czechia, we don't make anything anymore, Narex is one of our last surviving tool companies. But Narex is also kind of German, it started during WWII as a Siemens daughter branch company.

Amazing how the Taiwanese allen key came almost back into the original shape after withstanding almost half ton. These bits with tighter diameter such as Milwaukee obviously broke in the spot where the diameter is smaller because of the biggest stress concentration.

I use many different screw bits and from my experiences - Wurth and Bosh are the best in ratio fragileness/hardness/price. You need correct balance between fragileness and hardness, some bits can be very hard, but then it literally explodes, some are too soft so you will bend it while working, Wurth and Bosh have the best ratio between these 2 parameters. From the video, it doesn't look that good for Bosh, but you have to realize that all those very cheap chinese bits are much much worse and Bosh is still pretty cheap. I don't have any Makita bits and probably not even Milwaukee, so I can't judge them, but everything cheap from China I tried was always garbage. Wurth also has the best shape so screw really holds properly on the bit. Using wurth bits and wurth screws is like screwing porn. You should also try more pieces from each company to make it more objective because you can always meet worse pieces. Polish cheap tools are mostly pretty good for that price, better chan Chinese. Here in Czechia, we also use a lot of tools from Narex, but hard to say, I would say that quality is very variable depending on specific models of tools and price.

One note - Milwaukee is no longer the US but the People's Republic of China... Milwaukee has been part of the TTI group for several years, which unfortunately is reflected in the quality...
@EvoKey
@EvoKey 2 ай бұрын
Lol. Not every Milwaukee part/tool is made there. Stop your nonsense. The quality is not "reflected" as you say, just because it is made in China. Things are not created from magic air in the US. If you have great QC standards, use the right machines, steel etc. You can make the same in China. It just takes a lot of effort to get there, and a lot of visits and a lot of searching for manufacturers that don't take shortcuts or would like to pay you under the table for you to use their place.

@@rya3190 I work as an product developer with location in Europe. I have worked with China production for 7 years, where we have our own supplier within the brand located in China. It takes a ton of time and fails to get what you wish for, or a lot of prototypes to reach a high level of quality. I have learned that if you dont tell exactly what color a cable or knop should be, they chose what ever they find cheap and easy. They never tend to choose the beautiful option if they need to solve things them selves. They do deliver quite exactly what you expect if every detail is filled out in your drawings, and have noted what cannot not be out of tolerance and what can they solve in their own way.

I've bought a cheap socket set with all the bits £31 off eBay just for the car as people at work seem to help themselves to my shit . My daughter bought me a £24 set the same amount of sockets from Lidl. The eBay set i wouldn't bet any money on it but the Lidl set I've had probably six years and i use it nearly every day and never had anything wrong with it . Low price doesn't mean its shit and high price doesn't mean its good. We've had snap on at work and its not as good as they say but they will replace your damaged stuff if you don't take the piss

Difficult ! You can not buy a single BOSCH bit here where in my area. I have to buy a SET. But I can buy WIHA (=premium german brand ! Very nice ! other premium brand e.g. HAZET or Gedore blue or ...) Same as before = cant buy a single bit ! Chinease or Taiwan bitd sold as a set. But the set is cheap. Sometimes I see a box 10 or 20 or 50 ( identical bit size). Cheap quality and little bit better quality for professional use (but still far away from premium bits). For some US$ I get a lot and profession use ... = Use it an loose it and pay overall ... I lost a expensive expensive german premium brand WIHA bit. Well cant find it ... And an other WIHA bit I broke (because I dont stop at to many torque ... = screw rusty ...) If your bit broke... ... maybe the torque is higher than the torque when the screw head fails ...

Thank you for your test. If your bit broke... ... maybe the torque is higher than the torque when the screw head fails ... But what do you think I think about result from kg ABC ? Thats a lot weight at the wrench (more than my body weight!). Oh the hydraulic press push not at the point where my hand usually will be. Thanks to my physic teacher ! Lets calculate a little but ... (Please help your brain and use google to find what I my results ...) Ok the length I dont know and only can guess with my wrench. Is you test good ? Yes beause the absolute value is not really importent ! The BITS work well, because my hand cant reach more than ABC Kilogramm (=Newton) when my hands work with metric values and not with ... To the readers of abouve words = Think about it. Next fault = The Milwauke is very very good (ok I got it since ...) because you can see a thin area ... That is a torsion area. Please use google why I prefer these bits with a torsion area. And YES I use often a standart wrench and sometimes a the impulse power of an electric ....... Next = We ee only ... I spend my money for the precise shape of the bit. I like a nice fit of the bit in the screw. But a very very little dirt ot little little little rust can be there. (otherwise I clean the screwhead) Can you imagine why ? I like to see a test about the good fit of the bits ... Next test I missed = As a privat person ... Ok you use that bit size maybe 400 times in you lifetime on planet earth. Other bits maybe 40 times and other bits never ever in you life on planet earth. A professional user will use the word wear and hardness of the bits (but only at a small outside zone and not in the bit !! = Induction hardening methode) Well bit for more money are elastic inside and outside area = thin but not to thin induction hardening. Next test = A nice fit in the wrench. Yes these video and test is impressive and I like it. But I expected more. Purepower test is nice and thats what you showed. Not more and not less. Some words why the Milwauke have a different look = I missed these Oh I prefer german WIHA bits (They sell a lot different versions = - general&wood use -stainless steel (beware , you dont need these because ...) - impact wrench type - BiTorsion type bits - tip with diamond coating - tip with groove = little tooth (?from a laser?) (Best bit brand with the other brand ????) (But all WIHA product expensive premium quality products = professional use ok, but privat use ...) Yes you can not buy all premium brands and test these. The general rule I can see inn your test. and thanks you you spend no word that the cheap bit is worse. All depends at the view + use of the person that spend money for a set. I dont need expensive bits when I need these every 5 years 2 times. Some bit I use thise moth 200 times and the next 12 month never ... I broke some cheap bits. Ok I payrd nearly nothink ! I can buy these SET 3 times and still be cheaper than ... But if I ruine expensive screws at a car (or expensive machines), than a cheap bit set is no good idea. Reader of above words think about it. Maybe I am wrong.
