I couldn't live without it! I use it, and another guy uses it everyday. I have cleaned(drained and put new chemicals) it out once. And had to purchase new tips a couple if times over the year, just because we wore the other ones out. We constantly switch between 3 different sizes: Purple,Blue and yellow if that means anything to you. Other than that all we do is keep distiller water in it and the liquid flux. Which I order from Cas-ker.

Hi Cade, Nice units aren't they? Nothing like hydrogen torch. I do like the laser welder, but, joints still need to be silver soldered for strength in Herbst etc. I have noticed larger labs do not laser weld their Herbst, just plain old silver solder, most likely for this reason.

Thank's for demonstration! I would like to see a detailed vidio demonstration on how to set up and operate this system with jewelry soldering, could not find any information from sellers.

Years ago, at my store use this wonderful machine. But the subject of the welding was much smaller than the example that I saw in the video Welding needles from Dot-Matrix Printer heads, i.e. the needle with her hammer. Their thickness was as two hairs of our head. Finally it is an excellent machine

Wow! I could not imagine soldering things that small!

Can you use it with distiller water only? I thought the electrolyte solution consist of distilled water + potassium hydroxide thanks in advance

So distilled water only isn't sufficient? thank you for your reply sorry for the late reply

Thanks for this nice video, other than the heat shield, what do you use to hold and fix the wires before soldering, please?
@RetainerDesigner Жыл бұрын
In this video I believe I just hold it with sticky wax. Mainly because the small flame size of the Hydroflame. Today I use a Blazer torch so I use Zap-it like material called "Fill-it" by ADS then cover with Heat shield

'The hydroflux welder generates fuel gas by passing an electrical current through distilled water. To improve the electrical cunductivity of the water, an electrolite is added, Potassium Hydroxide. " That was from the instructions. When you by the hydroflux welder you get and electrolite solution to pour into the tank. after you do that all following refills are with distilled water,. Once a year or so, you clean out the tanks and put a fresh bottle of elecrolite solution in the tank.

Where do you put the electrolyte solution in the water distilled water tank the first tank or?
@RetainerDesigner11 ай бұрын
I believe you put it in the water tank,I believe the electrolite solution is already premixed, when you need to add more just add water. I havent had my hydroflux welder for years! I miss it!@@perry7266

Excuse me what is this black material you used for closing the appliance?
@RetainerDesigner5 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about the Gray Heat Shild material I covered the appliance with to protect it from the flame? if so here is a link. amzn.to/2ZKst4G

Would you say that tip diameter and flame diameter (for your smallest tip or even the smallest tip you can get) is less than 2.5mm?
@LefterisGkinis8 жыл бұрын
Yes and more less
@brandonjones69010 жыл бұрын
can you tell me where you get that grey flowable heat shield?
@RetainerDesigner10 жыл бұрын
i get mine from JBCANDCOMPANY.COM to make it a little more flowable i mix water with it and pack it into a big syringe. but you can also buy them in 2oz tubes that you can squrt out too

I also placed a video response. A much smaller flame means heat sheild may not ne needed. Difference in hydrogen tips, as you show.

That Hydroflux machine looks amazing, how does it compare to an oxygen/propane or oxy/acetylene jewlers torch. The initial purchase price is about 2x what an oxy/acetylene set cost.
@RetainerDesigner6 жыл бұрын
I believe they are just about the same, You can give the hydroflux different size flame by changing ou thte tips. Plus this thing runs on dionized water! much better in my option that having a propane tank in your lab, lol!
@RetainerDesigner11 жыл бұрын
I would say my smallest tip is .5mm

You are right, you have to start with the electrolyte solution. But as you run the machine your levels will get low, all you have to add it distilled water after that. then once a year or so, clean it out and add the electrolyte solution again. check out casker.com that is where I bought my hydroflux, flux and electrolyte solution
