I was rockin' in Cuba with a 17m strut-less kite and my big floaty simulator/NF2 set up with 6-8 knots of wind. No word of a lie even the flysurfer 15's/19's were stalling when parked at 12 oclock. Had to keep looping the 17 to keep going. Foils are an absolute light wind weapon. A game changer for us up in light wind plagued Ontario. Very good points.. I'd love to upgrade to a carbon set up. My aluminum setup is so heavy but its pretty durable so far. If anyone has problems with seizing up, a small amount of anti-seize on threads and between mating surfaces works wonders.

Hey Jake do you know how far from the back of the board in inches or cm that your foil mount plate should be ? I know its as far back as possible but do you know the measurement ? Cheers

What do you mean by "seize up" when talking about materials? Does this impact ride, or just taking it apart?

Both are good at what they are made for. But I prefer the versatility of a normal inflatable.

Hey Jake, can I ask you your opinion on my thoughts? I've been foiling on nice beginnerfriendly 850 wing for nearly a year. Has gone very well, now practicing tacks and gybes, most touch the water still, but I can often stay on the board through the turns. Do you think a cruizer wing is too much of a beginner choice for me? Does it have a good enough top speed and manouverability to remain exciting after having the basic foiling skills under control? Or would I want to upgrade to the aspect pretty soon? It is hard to estimate the difficulty and technicality of the aspect wing, and hard to estimate how much fun a more intermediate/experienced rider can have with the cruizer wing

Edit: my current wing is from a different brand, I'm looking to change to levitaz, hence the question.
@JakeKelsick

Really depends on what you want out of the foil. I personally love the cruizer wing and it's my go to wing everytime I go foiling. Sure you lose a little speed vs a smaller wing but you gain the fun and predictably of a bigger wing which is great for light wind riding and ripping around in shallow spots. So to round up I think the cruizer wing would hold you over for A LONG time. 😉🤙🏻

Jake, do you think that a 4,2 / 4,3 is too small for me? I am doing long foil runs and heel / toe carves not always successful.
@JakeKelsick

Really up to you dude! The exo can dig more that the bigger match board but if you are coming getting up and being on the foil it's a nice sizes board to rip around on.

Do you think once you get up and riding that you would want to upgrade from the 60cm mast quite quickly?
@JakeKelsick
@JakeKelsick 5 жыл бұрын
Good question dude! I thought about this after making the video. The 60cm would be a dream to learn on but the 80cm is a better buy. It's around the same price but a lot better in the long run as far as versatility.

Good advice, just regarding foot straps I found I had to take the back one off as it really got in the way, I tried Foot Hookers but found my feet where to big to feel comfortable, incidentally, don't Google "Foot Hookers" in front of your mum, she'll see the results and think you need help.

Tempted to get a foil yet? Head over to the Levtiaz website and scope em out - bit.ly/LevitazKitefoils The 60cm hybrid mast is the easiest to learn on but the 80cm is a better buy as far a setup that you will enjoy riding in the long run. Don't forget to head over to Patreon to see why I keep bringing it up in every video - www.patreon.com/jakekelsick Happy shredding!
