I called myself a sheet metal worker... and then I saw this guy inflate two plates TIG-welded on their outside, with water, and make it a pulse jet. This guy deserves my uttermost respect. What can I do with my life now ? Dude, I would never burn gas in such a thin material, the steel could burn, and ... oh never mind, it's not my life. Just reminding everybody this guys breaks all safety rules we're taught in metal work.

Just wanted to point out that hydroforming is usually done by inflating metal tubes inside of a mold using water pressure, kind of like blow molding with plastic. The pressure washer was pretty ingenious though. I've been thinking about ways to do this to make bike frames and such and a pressure washer never occurred to me. Good on you, sir!

Your truck realy gets a rough treatment sometimes, maybe you should make it fire and explosion proof. That could be a nice idea for a build, a truck that can withstand everything you regularly need to do with it, firework proof and made so it can withstand the heat from a pulse jet complete with attachments and brackets that allows it to hold and adapt to future projects, sort of a furze mobile!

@tornuptom10 жыл бұрын
Also pretty sure(correction welcome!) that tig welder and plasma cutter are the same thing? or can achieve the same result?
@MysticalDork10 жыл бұрын
Nope. Both have a tungsten electrode and a supply of gas to a handpiece, but that's where the similarities end. Plasma cutters have an internal arc and the gas (usually air) is blown through it, carrying superheated plasma with it out the nozzle to cut things. TIG welders create an arc between the tungsten electrode in the handpiece and the material to be welded, and the gas (usually argon, helium, carbon dioxide or a mix) is used to prevent the oxygen in the air from reacting with the molten metal of the weld.
