Thank you for following up on your H2O2 Peace Lily therapy. I'm pleased that it appears to be working. I have one about the size of your Miriam that is over 10 years old and looking sickly like she was. It still gives me flowers, one bloom at a time, but the leaves are yellowing & browning. I will try the peroxide treatment next time I water it. I just found your channel and subscribed. Not everyone understands how we can worry about a plant that is sick, but you obviously do. You show that you care & are serious about giving your plants TLC. I appreciate that & will continue to follow you. You seem like a very loving person. I read that copper is toxic to some plants, including a couple of cacti but can't remember what ones. Most of my plants are cacti, so I use terracotta pots to help avoid the dangers of overwatering. I will also treat some of them with peroxide after winter passes because I'm seeing a few fungus gnats around.

I just watched both this video and the 1st video of your grandpa's Peace Lily and hydrogen peroxide rescue. My 1st Lily ever and I woke up a few days ago and it was completely drooped except this 1 new rolled up growth. I panicked, watered it and put it outside. 🤦♀️ I didn't know what to do and I've been so busy I hadn't looked up what to do until today. My leaves were turning totally yellow, the green leaves were getting brown spots. I looked at the roots and they look healthy, not brown or soggy and there's no smell. I watched about 7 videos and I'm comfortable with your experience so I just did the hydrogen peroxide mixture on my Lily. Thank you, I hope this revives her.

I watched your previous video and immediately identified the issues. Although I’m happy the hydrogen Peroxide worked I noticed that your pot for Miriam was too small, she’d outgrown it as her roots were visible above soil level. Also, fully cover the roots on top. The smaller plant from the other video should have been in a nursery pot then placed inside your decorative pot. Keep all nursery pots as liners for the decorative pots. I continue to re-use for other plants. As for drainage, there’s no need to drill holes in your decorative pot if a nursery pot is being used as well (which you should ALWAYS use) Here’s what you do...you lift the nursery pot out and put water 💧 inside of the decorative pot, then lower the nursery pot back inside. You should always water 💦 from the bottom; this ensures proper root hydration. Make sure there is enough space between your nursery pot and the decorative pot, which should be a size larger than the nursery pot for watering purposes. Sometimes the soil becomes so dry and hard that only watering from the top may not penetrate through to the lower roots. Ok enough from me. Those Lillie’s are beautiful and thanks for sharing.

Hydrogen peroxide doesn't help with sunburned plants, peaceful lillys don't like direct sun. They like light but not direct sunlight areas. I have mine indoors under rooflamps with Plant fluorescent lamps And they flower all the time.
@gullvall4 жыл бұрын
@@AsiyahsPlantLife I'm sorry but your lily isn't all the way we'll. It needs nutrients probably kalcium or fosor. Hydrogen peroxide is not a nutrient it kills all bad and good in the soil, so you always need to put new nutrients in after a treatment. It probably had trips before and it needed more soil, after that many years of no changing and how little the pot was I believe it was a combo. The leafs are not suppose to have that brown tip ore have yellow or spotty colors. Research trips and NPK nutrients fore it. My tips for blooming is: keep it out of direct sunlight and, feed it with nutrition. I ceep mine under Plant fluorescent lamps, and they bloom all the time😊

I use hydrogen peroxide. I use it a lot stronger. I would mix 1 part peroxide with 3 parts distilled water. I would mix 3 cups distilled water with 1 cup peroxide and 1 tbsp of sugar for leaf disease. The sugar helps it stick but doesn't make the plant sticky. But you probably should use it outside or in the sink. That stops tomato blight.

Dear Asiyah, I watched your previous video, and watched it again today. Then I started wondering whether there was an update and found this!! Thank you so much!! I have been using the Hydrogen Peroxide and it's been of great help. Now I have a troubled Rex Begonia, I think I'll use some on that.

They look so great! Thank you for sharing! I’m gonna get some hydrogen peroxide for a couple of mine. Would it be safe to also do it on some that aren't struggling, just as a sort of preventive measure, or is that too harsh/waste of time? Btw, what I've heard from a few sources is that peace lilies like to be a bit root bound, and doesn't really bloom if they aren't because they don't ’need’ to/use energy for growth instead, so maybe letting it get a bit root bound would help. And then, as you said, it has been traumatic for it, so it will definitely need to regain some strength :)
@AsiyahsPlantLife4 жыл бұрын
Hey there! I don’t think it would hurt the plant to use H2O2 as a preventative measure. Just watch it to see how it does once you start. Yes, peace lillies are fickle! They have a love language of their own. I’m still learning, and growing with my plant babies.🥰
@fiemy68884 жыл бұрын
Asiyah's Plant Life thank you! I think I’ll give it try. They definitely do! However they're also very vocal about when they need water, which has helped my friend a lot - she always struggles with when to water. I don't think we ever stop learning and growing 🌿🌱 stay safe! ❤️

Hi, i just used hp today for the first time on my plants and this was so encouraging to watch! I hope my plants look as good as your peace lily 😃 just wondering, in the previous vid you treated another peace lily as well... did that plant recover as well?

Hey there! Yes, I did treat a smaller one and that one did not make it. There was some sort of infestation in the soil which I didn’t realize. Poor plant baby went on to glory😳

Hey there! I don’t reuse soil for my plants but I have composted it in the past. It’s a great way to RRR without worrying about infecting/infesting new plants with old soil.

Loved the updated video. I have a peace Lily that was given in memory of my mother in law. Where do you keep your peace lily? Can you post a picture? My leaves are not drooping but they keep burning with brown spots or yellowing. Do you keep it in the living room or bedroom? Should it be kept in a room with no air condition? Help!
@AsiyahsPlantLife4 жыл бұрын
So sorry for your loss. I’ve moved since that video and now my Miriam is in an East facing window in my dining area. She loves it there!🥰 The browning could be due to overwatering, pest, root bound, or any number of things. It’s hard to tell without seeing your plant baby. Can you tell me more about what’s happening?
@dees35574 жыл бұрын
Asiyah's Plant Life Thank you for your reply. When I received the plant, I didn’t know anything about what to do as it did not come with any directions. Everyone said it was an easy plant to take care of so I thought all I had to do was water it. I didn’t take it out of the planter or remove the plastic used to catch the drainage in the weave basket. About a month ago, I repotted it as advised by a customer service person in the Lowe’s plant department. It’s growing tall but along the edges of some of original, big leaves are brown and a few other leaves are yellowing. New leaves are growing so I’m watching them. Recently I went to a local nursery and the owner told me to give it plant food every 2 1/2 to 3 weeks. I water it once a week but I check the soil for dampness first. I wish I can send a picture.

I want to be able to call my plants "bodacious" too!! I have 3 potted corn plants, ( friends said they looked fake, they were perfect, supple and green). Now: with brown/yellow patches, they look sickly!! I tried diluted neem water on one...almost dead...and another, used neem just on the leaves as a leaf treatment. Now, here goes with a hydrogen peroxide trial...my local nursery couldn't identify the illness by affected leaves...so i have nothing further to lose!!
@AsiyahsPlantLife3 жыл бұрын
Yes, try it! I hope your plant babies come back strong and lush. Do you think you may be overwatering them? Any pests that you can see on the leaves or in the soil?
@aletamelessa97503 жыл бұрын
I don't think it could be overwatering. I water once a week, and they get very dry in between waterings. The parent plant is 8 years old, the 2 daughter plants are 3 and 1, respectively. The youngest perked up the day I peroxided her, but she's still sickly greenishyellow since the neem. The 2 larger, older plants perked up too, but if I cut off all the diseased leaves, there won't be much left.

Hi! I love all your videos and it helps a lot for new plant parent like me. Just wondering, how often do you use a hydrogen peroxide to your plants? What's the measurement when you dilute it in water? Is it also advisable to spray the leaves or flowers to kill the pests or gnats? Thanks for your help in advance.
@AsiyahsPlantLife3 жыл бұрын
Hey there! I use the H2O2 mix about once per month now. Neem oil is good for killing pest and gnat eggs.
