I'm a bit curious to know the chemistry and physics behind this. My basic understanding is that the HHO puts energy into pyrite's bonds, causing them to break apart. In turn, the energy produced by breaking said bonds is enough to produce sufficient force to propel chucks of pyrite everywhere.
@DarthPedobear8 жыл бұрын
I think it is more of the crystalline structure breaking.

Mari Onette The hydrogen gas is burning but we don't know if the pyrite itself is burning. It doesn't seem to be smoking and it's definitely not on fire, so it's unclear what's happening.

I dunno what I expected, but I didn't expect it to react so violently to the heat from the torch. Is it because of the crystalline form that pyrite has?

If you heat up pyrite it produces sulfur vapours, i suppose that it's the reason behind the violent reaction and the explosion of the Cristal.

Fools gold, or Pyrite, isnt a metal but a crystal, so there are air pockets that blow up from the hot air and possible gas. And also because rocks dont melt (lava isnt melted rock, but molten, there is a difference)
@TlalocTemporal8 жыл бұрын
