When bagging you should invert the bag by first opening the bag, sticking a hand all the down to the bottom of the bag, then grab the root like a glove, and pull the bag over the plant like a pillow cover. Less friction and bruising, much easier.

@@HomegrownPassion My boys love helping in the garden but not the work preparing it. 😂. They don’t mind to an extent and then when it gets heavy they somewhat mind. But they are older and they always carry the five gallon buckets of water for me even when it’s cold so I don’t have to when I water the perennials and now the green stalk is planted. We got our second hydroponic system this week and we have to make room for it and get it planted with the collards and kohlrabi and baby Choy this week as the seedlings are more then ready to transplant

We have found a some varieties that do very well hydroponically just through trial and error. We really like Johnny's Seed and they have a category for hydroponic seeds. We grow mostly asian greens, spinach, kale and microgreens in the winter. In the summer we do more herbs, tomatoes, lettuce and other veggies. Good luck with your NFT system! Yes of course! We have been doing this for 6 years, and the only thing we grow that needs pollinated are the tomatoes. We do not have bees, so we use an old electric toothbrush to vibrate and pollinate the flowers.

Thank you! Bobby's dad bought the snowmobile new in 1980 or 81. I'm not sure how he took care of it. Bobby remembers riding it when he was little, but then never being able to start it. It sat in a barn for 15 -20 years. He said the crank shaft bearings needed replaced, I don't know much about engines. He is having fun with it though and hopefully it will fire up when he gets it put back together. I'll definitely be taking it for a spin. Hope you had a nice weekend!

A question about algae. Here in Florida algae loves nutrients in the water. We have a real problem with harmful algae like cyanobacteria. I worry that algae could be releasing toxins into hydronic food. How do you control algae?
@HomegrownPassion
@HomegrownPassion 3 жыл бұрын
We have can have problems with algae too. Our main way to combat it is keeping as many growing surfaces covered as possible. We keep a cover over the tanks, over the growing medium in the buckets, and over the unused nursery channels. As algae can't get light, it can't grow.
