We just had a discussion about the Maven the other day and my gut instinct it was going to get put on hold. I'm happy you announced this a few weeks before the release date and being up front with the community. CoralVue Team has been great at releasing by the anticipated deadline so Kudos to your team for that. Cannot wait to see the Mavens release date and knowing that it has been put on hold - shows your commitment to this product long term.

Greetings from Phoenix, Arizona!!!! As hitting my 2nd year in the hobby it was time to upgrade to a bigger tank. With a new tank i wanted all new equipment. I've always wanted a controller but had no idea where to start. When the hydros launch was released it was absolutely perfect! Once it was on my tank within a couple months I purchased the XP8 and misc. Probes and sensors. I can't imagine my tank without hydros. I tend to over think things and for my to choose hydros was a big deal to me. I love my collective, i love your customer service and I love your honesty and appreciation you have for your customers. Your honesty with the Maven was amazing and I can't thank you enough. For you not to release a gen 2 or just to put a product out because it's good enough really means alot to me. I don't want to get to mushy but I'm proud to have hydros on my tank. The fact that my controller is made in the USA means a great deal to me as well. Thank you for what you guys do and thank you for caring about your customers!

I ordered a launch, should be delivered tomorrow. I’ll be getting a Maven for sure when it’s released. And I’m really curious about the light, fingers crossed I can see one in person in Orlando this April. Also love hearing directly from the owner of the company that they wanna do things the right way. Buys a lot of good will with me, and makes me confident I chose the right controller ecosystem to be apart of.

Agreed with others. Delay to 2030 if you need to. Just keep the community informed so they can make informed decisions. I think you guys knew black friday wasn't happening well before today. No real update since April. Good intentions can be poisoned by poor communication. Keep up the good work though. Can't wait to see what's next!

I don't have a problem with the Maven delay. Would be great if you guys kept us up to date as the situation changes. As you noted, there are other options. I want the Maven, but if it's going to be a year or so I might want to see do something for the interim.

I love my Hydros controller. I have it set up on a 300-gallon African cichlid tank! I brought the x2 starter kit and the Icecap gyre wavemaker with the controller and extra wavemaker.I wish I had bought the launch now that I have had my hands on it! I have one request from us freshwater guys, though! Could we get a freshwater tester that does Nitrates and Gh Kh? That would be so nice to know when my clients' tanks need Maintenance.

On the Hydros facebook blog and my local fish store keep saying there is a tremendous of time that system loses wifi connection. Just wondering if this is a big of a problem that everyone is saying? To be fair they say the orange brand does the same. I do not own a controller as of yet but will be buying one soon so its kind of scary to spend this much money and constantly have problems. Is there anything you can tell me to ease my mind?

Thanks so much for your comment! WiFi connection issues can be pretty tricky and aren't always straightforward. Often, it's not just one thing causing the problem. How the WiFi router and access points are set up can really impact connections in local fish stores and homes. Many local fish stores place their WiFi router right by the front under a desk. Still, in a building filled with aquariums and water, it's super important to position the router strategically. You see, WiFi cannot travel through water, which is why there aren't any WiFi underwater cameras! When the signal hits an aquarium, it barely makes it past one inch of water, creating a WiFi dead zone for anything on the other side of the tank. Additionally, newer WiFi setups often use multiple pods that create a strong grid to eliminate dead spots. This setup employs “band steering,” which helps the pods seamlessly switch between 2.4 and 5GHz signals. However, if a device like the HYDROS only supports 2.4GHz, it might run into connectivity issues. To resolve this, separating the WiFi signals or adding an Access Point dedicated to 2.4GHz can help! But no worries-HYDROS controllers are built to operate independently of the WiFi connection. So, even if your internet goes down, the app won’t be accessible, but the HYDROS will keep your aquarium running smoothly without missing a beat!

I'm using the old "unsupported" dual wifi gyre controller, and it's lost connection a few times. Nothing major. Since upgrading my router, this hasn't been an issue anymore. Other branded devices also had connection issues.

@@rockybowman5342 With your wise choice of the LAUNCH and the XP8, you will never experience that disconnect that primarily effects the communication to the WIFI strips. The XP8 is HARDwired to the LAUNCH...along with its own hardwired outlets. Because of this, each HYDROS device is a brain that is connected independently to the network. Not relying on each other, supporting each other. The WiFi strip relies on that interveinious wifi network that is always communicating, we must have the network proper to support that. If not, you will see the disconnect you mentioned.

My last question? Is there a possibility of developing a Freshwater Canister filter that could be monitored with Hydros! a lot of freshwater users don't use sumps!

I really hope during the delay they decide to add some probe ports to the Maven. To me it’s a big miss they are not there. Hydros touts that each device is stand alone and you only need to buy one, but can expand as you want. Well if the Maven is the stand alone device for water parameters, ph and salinity probes shouldn’t be left out, and doing so drops the ball and goes against hydros marketing. They are on other devices at cheaper price points. Shouldn’t be left off of this device. But excited for this anyways. And I have the Launch already. But for people who don’t want any other automations, and are just interested in monitoring water parameters they need to also get an x10 or launch to get full feature set
