So if the Wastewater has a higher concentration of metals and all those other things is that bad for your plants?
@CoralVueTV9 күн бұрын
Not necessarily. Most of the time the wastewater is still much better than the original tap water since it normally passes through several stages of prefilters. If concerned you can always send in an ICP test to confirm.
@gr8belayr9 күн бұрын
I think it's a misstatement to claim that you are wasting that water. Yes it is a byproduct and it is not the desired one that you want. But water that goes down the drain goes back to the environment. It's returned back to the Earth

It sounds like something in the water is reacting with the air produced by the skimmer pump. Here is a link to common things that cause skimmers to go nuts. www.coralvue.com/support/935227-Skimmer-overflowing
@WildPursuit116 күн бұрын
@CoralVueTV it just took me to your website home page. Do you have a video on KZbin covering it?
@CoralVueTV16 күн бұрын
@@WildPursuit1 We dont seem to have a separate video on the cause of skimmer overflows but is covered in many of our skimmer setup videos in one form or another. The most common causes are additives, foods, and chemicals can change the water's surface tension, causing an abundance of microbubbles and possibly overflow. New filter socks, Dechlorinators, chemiclean, Frag putty(epoxy), and medications are common culprits. Adding activated carbon, and water changes with RODI water will help remove whatever is in the water.

YT hint from someone who is no more than a simple viewer. On most of your videos there is a lot of chitchat before addressing the topic from the thumbnail. On this video it was 2 1/2 minutes. It hurts your views, like and subscriptions. I understand you may be clipping these from a longer podcast, but please cut to the chase. Thanks for the video.

Almost seven minutes into the video before you address the topic in the Headline. You will get more views and help more people by swing more concise. It’s just how YT works.

GREAT content as usual even if it was only about H2O ;). We have 138 TDS out of the tap in Northern OH. Only have 40 psi of water pressure so we got a boosted 150 GPD system. We change our sediment and both carbons every six months. The membrane is over three years old and we still get 2 TDS out before the DI polishes it to 0 TDS. When we got in the hobby, we hauled 5 gallon buckets of RODI water from the LFS for six months. I DO NOT miss those days especially in the wintertime.

I’ve thought about adding a second membrane, do I need to add a second restrictor too?
@CoralVueTVАй бұрын
No, you will only require one restrictor placed on your waste line. Basically, the waste of the first membrane goes to the second membrane then that waste has the final restrictor. You just have to correct the pressure restrictor for the membrane used.

Current Neptune Apex controller user and new hobbies. I have 7 tanks out of the 7 5 of them have apex. Its been nothing but troubles and errors. Constant failures on the trident trident build is horrible I mean who puts a corvette right next to the electronic board so that it could get damaged. Poor designed and from what I see they don't bother upgrading updating the build to address this. Have a apex a2 which almost crashed my tank because it decided to duplicate modules and disconnect the main modules programming. Had to buy another one quickly so I could adjust all the outlets and get it running smoothly. Dos sensors stuck in the closed position. Leak detectors failed. I am now on my third trident which suffers from damage due to the curvettte overflowing. I mean if you really look everything is cheaply made. They use a fan to make the pill spin and its held up at one point which If give.s out makes it not work. Just not worth the headache and time. That's the most important thing my time I will spend more money if it will save me time. Neptune advertises that through BRS that it will save me time and peace of mind. Far from my experience. I am willing to look for an alternative controller and sell all this cheaply built crap. The controller by hydros looks to be robust almost like you can get it wet. Gee what a though neptune never though of that. Wow. Hopefully this will shift the tide and they will step up in the product quality built. I mean look at the new doser. They made it quieter only Same price How about making it a 4 doser and making it quieter. I feel like they just took the product and slapped an new look AND Fixed a flaw that the original already had. Shame on Neptuen go Coralvue Hydros I'm Rooting for you. To bad I hadn't noticed till 2 years of owning this.
