Hyenas seem more unpredictable then lions or leopards, they don't seem to be as obvious in their emotions as lions and leopards. Its just amazing how many vocalizations they have. Kevin is just so fluent in their language and well meshed into the clan. It's not very many people who want to learn about hyenas but you've changed my perception. I just love the laughs even though those laughs are no laughing matter. Just amazing how intelligent they actually are. Much Love

The nonchalant attitude he can convey when things like hyenas start getting aggressive with each other in front of him is just baffling. The experience probably helps but I genuinely think he is incapable of true fear at this point. He can be nervous and you can tell but he’s at the level that not even death has too much of a worry in Kevin’s mind. Mr. Richardson how you can be such a kind and genuine human yet hold the mentality of one of the most badass people on the planet shows how much of not only a national treasure that you are but a global treasure. You and king Steve have really brought upon a shift in some of humanity and as someone whose developed this shared love for animals I thank you with all my heart for looking after and showing us how great even the “scariest” ones are

Hierarchy is the name of the game for these guys ... they all know their place, no question. They deserve respect for their tenacity and intelligence. Never thought I'd learn to love hyenas, until Kevin educated us how vital they are in the scheme of the African bush, and how cute and affectionate they can be. I could just watch them for hours. Its so interesting to see their social life and how there is never a dull minute. Every Hyena has its place in the clan, always testing their limits, every movement, every sound has its meaning to maintain order in the clan. I think only a Wolf pack comes close to this. I dont mean that Leopards or Lions aren´t interesting, its just the Hyenas are so strange and different. Wonderful animals.

This is probably the most detailed video Kevin has made of the spotted Hyena's and it's very interesting that they have a very social way of interacting based on different sounds and can sometimes be quite aggressive but yet because Kevin has become a member of their clan even when he makes sounds they always treat him so nicely and give him kisses too.

It’s so funny because I do this to my dog when I’m bored all the time. I play videos of dogs barking or wolves howling and I go hide. And he finds me. Sometimes he’s excited. Sometimes he looks kind of fed up with the ridiculous human he has to look after. But he never fails to play the game. And I love that. This video was awesome. Kevin, this WAS AMAZING! SUPERB! JUST WHAT I WANTED TO LEARN FROM THIS CHANNEL! EXCELLENT! From the explanation of different sounds and rules amongst the hyenas to the feeding. The way they just gravitate away from Bongo's property! The way Luke reacts when he believes you're banding together with Tika. I don't feel qualified to be anywhere near the clan, but I can certainly UNDERSTAND them more ... similar to how you don't feel qualified to integrate into a different human culture in fear of insulting them by something trivial but at least understanding where their rules are coming from. I am certainly using this in my story-telling (DnD and writing) - I love to see others get into the concept, wishing to research further, and then being able to provide further detailed content. Ignorance first of all. Then the prejudice against them by us humans is also linked to their physical appearance, hyenas don't appear physically "cute" like some other animals, so we humans think "not physically cute enough" = bad and despicable. No kidding, these furry boys are extremely active. I see that even with your given rapport in the clan, you are always highly alert and understandably tense. The behavior swings aren't necessarily erratic, but really just like a bunch of punk adolescents playing pranks on each other and sometimes escalating quarrels. And then along comes the proper gentleman that everyone respects (Kevin). Great show!

Kevin, so little attention has been paid to hyenas, by science, in a way. You're probably one of the foremost experts on them. The 'stories'always have them as the bad guys. They are amazing.
