A triumphant piece of music as only Bach could write. Superb pianist, piano and recording. Who were the piano builders? We organ buffs insist on knowing details of the instrument - maker, age and rebuild history, so why not the same for excellent pianos as well?

I've played every single one of Bach's organ pieces and I'm pretty sure-experientially-that this performance is within a metronome beat or two up or down of what Bach himself would have used. It sounds just right, fiery but not so fast as to lose the contrapuntal nuances. (I have come to the conclusion that "as fast as a human can possibly play it" is not the truly most musical solution.)

Great choice of material & arrangement. Perfect tempo. I would have preferred less Sustain pedal, maybe substitute some _Sostenuto_ with the harmony changes in the left hand.
