Enjoyable to watch and more importantly listen, to a video in which the speaker did not have to say 'like' every other word, demonstrating the product clearly and thoroughly. Even coming back to explain the 'mystery gadgets'! Darn instructions, is that what those little booklets are ;) I've decided to buy this vac based on this video after being undecided reading the Amazon reviews.

Glad you enjoy the review! Thanks for the compliments! Enjoy the vac (I use the pump for water changes by filling the sink or bathtub). See you around the channel! 🤘

my regular siphon just doesn't work on my low to the floor tank. So I have had to find a solution and the electric siphon has been saving the tank from all the debris that has built up in it. I use just the slow siphon method for 10 gal tanks and some of my less debris filled 20 gal. I've used several electric siphons now and they all have imperfections in using them, even much more expensive ones than this. I don't like instructions at all either so I get what you were going through...but I'd like to see another video using it per instructions. I think it would be a more fair review for this Hygger product.

Awesome. I appreciate the support. I use it for water top-offs weekly by putting it in a bucket or a running sink. 😁

@@ssaquascapes i collect my rainwater and will use it as a pump with filter (will add filter floss to bottom). I’ll pump the now filtered rainwater into my containers I keep on the ready for top offs.

@@ssaquascapes my well water is a PH of 8.3 and kills plants.. Buying water isn't economical.. by collecting rainwater in serialized containers and then running it through a filter, it's dropped my PH down to a 6.6 to 7.2 depending on the tank and what hardscape I have in it. Plants are doing AMAZING too with absolutely no fish loss.. I have 10 tanks now 40 gal and under.

That makes sense. You could also run an RO/DI unit if you have a dry season. Etc.

The “sand filter’ is more for saltwater applications or river aquarium set ups that would have larger size rocks that wouldn’t be carried away from the amount of flow.

I think the fluval looking hose might help for the outflow... 🤣😂🤣... Great review...I think I need that vac!

Yes, the hose might help keep water in the tank. 🤣 It’s a pretty cool vac with many configurations. I think you’ll find some uses for it. 🤘

Would attaching a very fine mesh sock bag on the return outlet (maybe affixing it with the o ring), help with catching some of the fine particles making the water cloudy?
@ssaquascapes
@ssaquascapes 4 ай бұрын
I think it is too fine for any mesh. Filter floss maybe but I don’t think there is much else they would catch it.

Question do you or anyone reading this know how i can use a gravel vacuum like these butttttt with a kitchen sink faucet that has a pull down sprayer? There is no parts that untwist on my faucet. I dont want to replace my expensive sink but i also want the ease of water changes/vacuuming without water splashes from 1 room to the other.. any ideas? 💡💡💡💡 💡 helllp lol

This is a powered vacuum and doesn’t hook to the faucet. If you are referring to a Python style system, you’re most likely out of luck. I haven’t found any hose attachments that fit my faucets either. Get a pump (like this Hygger one) and fill sink with water. Run water, put pump in full sink and turn on. That’s how I run a line to my tanks for water changes. Hope that helps.

Get longer tubes for the plumbing under your sink that goes to the faucet, use an adapter on the end of the python to attach to the new long hoses you bought, place the now connected python assembly and plumbing tubing in the sink. If the tubing can literally just be plopped into the sink with the python drain assembly you've bypassed the need for the faucet connection while still allowing the waste water to drain into the sink. The adapters are usually 1/2 inch or 3/8 inch in America. You might have to buy a few adapters or shut off valves. Go take a look and some pictures of the plumbing under your sink and plan the most convenient way to do this. You might not be able to find long enough plumbing tubes so you can just buy 2 or 3 and connect them to make sure they'll make it to the sink. You can probably get a 3 way shutoff valve and just turn the valve and have water go from your faucet to your python assembly that's laying in the sink when you want to do water changes.

Good tips Joe. What I do now is just place this Hygger pump in my sink, close the drain and fill the sink. Then leave water running and turn on this vac pump. I have a long silicon hose I stick in the pump outlet. Works beautifully as the Hygger pump used for this vac has a 6’ head height 🤘🤘

@joesteadman343 I use a similar thing i made a manifold to join my hot and cold taps for my washing machine with a few gate valves a T joint and a few threaded joiners. I use 1/2'' braided stainless hose to the taps. And have a garden hose adapter on the end of the manifold and my syphon hose. I just drain into my floor drain in the bathroom and use the manifold to fill it back up.
