Hyper 212 RGB Black Edition on AM4 socket install (COOLer, fast tutorial)

So I recently just bought this fan and tried to install it into my PC. The fan itself works properly but I am not getting any light up from the RGB portion. I tried plugging it in using the controller and just the RGB Header and it doesn't seem to be working. Any help would be great!

Hi Steph, the controller is for older motherboards as far as I know, so if your motherboard has those 4 pins for RGB, you won't need it. I remember having a hard time making RGB work, but truly I don't remember how I did it in the end. What I remember is that I installed the latest drivers from my motherboard and also from the cooler and (I think) that made it work, also google-ing the problem might help (maybe there are also some settings to be done in BIOS?). Anyway, right now I am using it without RGB as my PC is under the desk right now so no reason to make it lit until I will change its location. Keep me updated, good luck.

Hey check the arrows on the RGB connectors. They can be connected either way but only work when the arrows match up!

Nope, this fan has (I suppose) the same current absorption as a normal CPU fan, the only difference is the huge radiator they provide.

@@ClaudiuB thank u very much, because i ask a shop nearby checked the liquid cooler with two radiator fans and they told me to better upgrade the psu first..Thank u for the info, maybe this will be the one im going to upgrade

@@mahika694 Indeed for those you maybe need another psu. I don't have too much knowledge with liquid coolers, but if they have two fans instead of one and a small pump to circulate that liquid, for sure it will consume more. Good luck

@@mahika694 yes that was dissapearing after I checked the motherboard manual and saw that I haven’t connected correctly the hdd and power led wires and also the buzzer. So the beeping sound was not the fault of the cooler

Hemp Empire I have no idea. It just didn’t beep anymore afterwards. It was weird. I means this mobo is kinda weird, sometimes (but quite rarely) it freezes for few seconds

@@ClaudiuB Are you using a MSI board? I had one of those in the past with the same issue, their bios is absolute junk. Look into your ram config it looks wrong to me. Surely a single dimm should be in the 1st slot.

You could try a bios update as well and make sure you clear CMOS. I tried all that stuff with my old board with the same issue, I had to return it in the end, nothing fixed it.

@@ClaudiuB Asrock don't make good Ryzen boards, they have the worst VRM. I recommend Gigabyte for Ryzen. The B550 Auros Pro is fantastic if you're on 3000, easily beats a Tomahawk board. Let me know how it goes I'm curious.
