Haha damn. This has to be the most realistic rig out there. I've been following your channel for about 2 years now but for some reason this video just stood out. Sim racing is so fkn fun

Hi Will, I have been watching this series from the very first race, and every one has been a great video, it is also a master class in showing others that you do not have to come first to head up a series, good clean racing and scoring points is what matters. I have been a viewer of your channel for around 3 years and watched 99% of your content and am never disappointed, one can only dream of owning a rig such as yours, but I do my best with what I have ( basic computer, 32" screen and Thrustmaster TMX wheel and pedal set) my newest upgrade will be the 1050Ti which will I hope improve my enjoyment of sim racing, I use mainly AC/RRE/RF2 as my CPU isn't strong enough for the likes of IRacing and ACC nor is my bank account lol

Good vid - small suggestion....think you're shifting too much. For example, you'll go up to 4th for a split second while approaching a braking zone and immediately go down back down the gearbox. Just use a bit more revs or bump limiter for a sec. Also, try using 2nd gear to float more entry speed and have a smooth exit instead of 1st....which will cause oversteer from the torque in such a low gear. GT3's are powerful, torquey engines....you don't always need to be at the very top of the rev range.....if you're having to shift up mid corner before hitting the exit curbing, you're in too low of a gear. So instead of going from 3rd, 4th for a split second, and back down to 2nd, 1st in some corners.....just bump limiter in 3rd, then down to 2nd. Much less shifting and I think you'll pick up time. This will also translate well into rain driving.
@shebeski2 жыл бұрын
I second this, he's way too high in the rev range too often.
@boostedmedia2 жыл бұрын
I did try shifting less during practice but found I wasn’t getting the rotation I needed.
@shebeski2 жыл бұрын
@@boostedmedia you're spending a lot of time past rev limit, though. Hanging out after rev limit doesn't help your acceleration. Once your lights flush once or twice you need to get into next gear, unless you're near a corner, then hold in the gear. Timing of downshifts is important for rotation, but being in 4th way over your rev limit doesn't help you rotate more. Being in 5th and then quickly dropping into high rev 4th will give you the rotation you need without peeling off your speed. Watch this vid again. It sounds like you're shifting by what sounds cool from the engine and now what the engine wants to do to perform best.

Great vid Will. Loving this series. Only thing that annoys me with ACC is how once you pass the AI they seem to just give up. You passed the Astin in second and were 2.7 ahead after about a lap and a half. Not your fault of course but just something I notice quite a lot with ACC. Keep up the great work mate.

Yeah I’ve noticed that too. I had the aggression set much higher this time but still as soon as I got past he was gone. Shame they don’t fight back

Yeah I enjoy the content but the racing is not as fun as online. AI doesn't race right. They are either too fast, too slow and not nearly as aggressive as a real driver. Good stuff Will

Man great racing! been watching a lot of your vids and you're 9/10 faster than anyone out there. You see how quick you were out of traffic once you took 2nd. Take this as a grain of salt just noticed from watching, but slow down behind traffic that is where you lose soooo much time like turns 9-12 just wait for the straight cause you and the car you're fighting are losing too much time on 1st. Because after the straight you got a lot of time on the guys up front, and you'll keep the car happy. Anyway that was your race to take top podium next time though!
@Bonoscot2 жыл бұрын
Excellent yet again. Any chance for future videos in maybe showing your wheel settings/ pedal settings/tyre pressures/ fuel etc etc setup for a races? So we can get an easier understanding to driving a vehicle like this at high speeds and staying on the track a little easier. Feel as if this is missed out a lot on with some content.

Struggling to understand the advantage of the upshifts when approaching a corner only to downshift a split second later, surely letting the car rev out would leave the car more settled on entry to the turn?

To get the car to rotate
@shebeski2 жыл бұрын
@@boostedmedia as said in another comment, hanging in 4th gear for 3 seconds too long to then shift into 5th for a split second, to then back right back downdoesn't help it rotate. If you notice most of your straight away shifts have you always in the near red line when switching into the next gear. These engines are torque based and like you to hang around more the middle of your rev lights. Shifting late is removing speed, there's nothing more to it than that. You can shift properly and time your down shifts as well. These aren't mutually exclusive ideas.

Hi Will. Hope you're doing well. Being a long term POV person myself if you can remember me, I'm wondering if you're having any issues rendering out your 4k60 gopro footage with the mixed media ie replay camera etc. Reason I'm asking, of late maybe 4 out of 5 render attempts in Vegas Pro 19 are ending in failure where the Vegas render just crashes the software. I've always used Magix HEVC format for the 4k60 render, but recently it's been so hit and miss which is really affecting my ability to put up content. Any input from you would be helpful. Keep up the great POV work my man.
