Lovely music test! A clear demonstration that recording equipment is rarely the limiting factor.

Thanks for the review! The pulsing red light is a bit annoying, but does sound good. Happy New Year!

Loved the music section! Wow, this microphone sounds great. Honestly, I was really skeptical, but that's probably because the streamer that used it did not setup it properly.

having the sm57/58 in there is such a great point of comparison for just a " and here is a/THE common xlr microphone " it really does blow everything else out of the water that came before it in this comparison with your voice imho

My ears must have deteriorated over the past 60 years but the GoMic still sounds sweet to me for an insanely small amount of cash, and proving to be unbreakable - it’s still my chuck it in my suitcase mic of choice. Another super review sir.

Wouldn't mind seeing a VS series episode comparing the quadcast vs the quadcast 2 just to see the differences and any minor improvements in sound

love the videos! I was wondering out of all the mics you have tested, what would be your best mic that you would choose for streaming that would block out background noise?
@techmed-rainer12 күн бұрын
Puh, I was so glad to hear some improvement of sound with the - Hello Neumann 👋 - U87 ai. Beside this I quite liked the Quadcast 2 compared to most of the competition you compared it to. Beside spoken word it did surpringly well with music. It has a nice feature set, the clicking mutte button is a bit annoying, though. As you mentioned the Røde NT USB+, I'd prefer the Quadcast 2. I didn't like the sibilance of the Røde.
@Podcastage12 күн бұрын
Exactly. For a usb mic it sounds great against the competition. There are fantastic XLr mics around $150 that I’d pick over this, but for those who don’t want to fiddle with that and would prefer plug and play, or any that stereo mic, this is surprisingly good to me from a gaming company. But yeah switching the u87 is night and day difference, haha! It sounds so much better to my ears.
@techmed-rainer12 күн бұрын
@@Podcastage Yes, in this comparison the improvement in sound quality when switching to the U87ai is really prominent - as it should be.

I feel like there isn't much difference in sound between the 2nd gen and 1st gen, the 1st gen has more high frequencies, and the 2nd gen is smoother. For someone who needs a multi-pattern microphone, I think buying the lower priced 1st gen might be a good deal?

HyperX apparently also have a „pro“ version which is pure Cardioid XLR with a pure condenser instead of an electret capsule.. I wonder what you think about that one… nice video as always ❤

If I was factory reset, and was told that I absolutely had to buy a USB mic, I think I would get the RODE NT USB Mini. Its one of the best sounding USB mics I've seen, and the mini is only $100. Also, when they say Mini, they really mean Mini. Smallest mic I've ever seen. Smaller than a lewitt LCT 440 for example. Yeah, its really tiny!

Hey man lovd th video, now this one is on my top list for the next buy but i do not think that it's the right one. I'm searching for a mic that i can keep at near 40 cm from me and it delivers good audio quality, i use it just for chatting and sometime streams ( i will bring it closer for the streams) but i do not like the fact that mic needs to be in front of my mouth to be heard good, Any suggestions?
@dylanbrown42915 күн бұрын
If possible itd be great if you did a usb ranking. I stubled upon your channel yesterday and i must say, youve got me interested in audio and i never thiught that was possible 😂. A lot of hard work clearly goes into these videos and they are very enjoyable.
