I just recently discovered your channel and it is great!!! I did all of the YouTubie things, so I liked, subscribed, rang the bell, commented and shared!!! I plan in the next year or two on moving to AZ and building the same way your son is!!! The minute my income situation gets revolved I'm hitting the road!!! I like so much about building with hype adobe, like Low cost and is something most people can do without needing a builder contractor and all of the other construction contractors needed to finish installing the various fields of each specialty. So thank you for sharing both builds with us, as I also learned a lot from your build as well!!!! So looking forward to seeing the final and finished product!!!! Oh yeah, those leach fields make great places for growing ornamental gardens!!!!!!! Much love, many blessings and happy trails!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting that you went with the galvanized R panels. I have a 24 x 30 shop that has the same R panels, it started out as just a covered carport so the galvanized was fine. After I enclosed it, I felt it was to hot so I painted the roof white, I’m glad I did.
@RedandAprilOff-Grid
@RedandAprilOff-Grid Жыл бұрын
The silver galvanized was less expensive, so we did a quick temperature check on our house, and it was a little cooler than the white. It surprised us too. The dark gray was definitely much hotter. It's not summer here yet, so it may not be completely accurate, and the only white we could easily get to on house is the trim. We might could compare it to our white roof in the summer.

Is it a code/structural reason that two thin layers of foam would require more purlins on top? (Two layers pro: can stagger the seams, cons : as you have mentioned.)
@RedandAprilOff-Grid
@RedandAprilOff-Grid Жыл бұрын
It was just a decision based on what we felt comfortable with. Thicker foam means longer screws, more risk of compression, and a less secure connection.

Thanks! We considered adding vents and could add them later. The vents are typically for the attic space, and this is an unvented roof without an attic, so they shouldn't be needed.

From my limited research, subsurface distribution constructed wetlands MAY be built between the septic tank and leech lines. An Inspector simply ignores them. But it does NOT replace the leech field Code requirement. At no point can the effluent come to the surface. (Cochise County NM) Correct me if this is incorrect/incomplete

It's important to step in the right place when walking on the foam layer because if you step in the wrong place you'll go through the foam layer and this will ruin the foam layer. So they can walk carefully you can install the foam board and cut the foam board. So you can cut the foam board to install it correctly. You don't want to squish the foam. When walking on foam layers, it is important to step carefully and install the foam board correctly. To do this, place the foam board on a flat, stable surface, cut it to size, and secure it in place. Avoid stepping on the edges or damaging the foam layer. By following these steps, you can help to ensure that your foam layers last for many years. The foam layer is delicate and needs to be handled with care. When walking on it, you have to make sure you step on the right spots, otherwise you might sink into the foam and damage it. To avoid this, you can use a foam board as a guide. You can cut the foam board to fit the shape of the foam layer and place it on top of it. This way, you can walk safely on the foam board and install the foam layer correctly. Be careful not to compress the foam too much when cutting or placing it.
