@@vinchazz For starters theres no way theyre taking all the structure out of the rear of a Nascar because of bump drafting and I dont see them going to the extra expense of carbon fibte brakes when they dont need to. Leave those steel brakes and 400kg extra weight in there and its unlikely to finish a 24 hour race.

Something not quite right here. If its a speed comparison then a normal in race stop for a Hypercar would be fuel, then tyres. I see tyres, eventually, and a relatively unhurried driver change, so I suspect this might be practice. Or am I missing something?

the race is usually paused and the cars go to pit lane. After the rain subsides, depending on the circuit but most of the time they have jet trucks come and dry the oval and then it's time for them cars to boogey on out of pit lane again.

In the WEC regulations, yes. There is both a minimum and maximum time a driver is to be behind the wheel.

For starters F1 doesn't do refueling and has one guy per tire so yes, it's comparatively slow.

And it's supposed to be slow. The limits imposed are for both crew safety and sporting reasons - to make it more punishing for a car to refuel and/or change tyres so there's more on track action, track action which you never see in F1.

Formula 1 kicked itself out of the chat due to one tire changer giving a glance towards an opposing team member that was perceived as "something other than friendly". All other F1 teams withdrew in support of the punishment for such an offense and have all vowed to give up on racing and life. ​@williec7273 I did like fueling in F1 pits, didn't like the crew getting dragged or burnt from a release with the fuel hose attached. I think rather then end fueling in F1 they should have had an electronic drive disabiler so the Transmission couldn't engage while the fuel hose was let's say 6 inches from the car. I would also like to see more then one tire manufacturer again. And damn it smaller cars F1 cars are way too big. Too long and wide.

@tomsparks2294 I'm pretty sure technology has improved enough that the fire issue or many dangers that were present at the time has been addressed. Nascar indy car imsa and others have very little trouble with fueling during races and Nascar does it several times a race with pretty primitive styling.

@@williec7273 most of the problem with F1 fueling was the driver being released while the fuel hose was still connected or the driver felt the car drop off the Jacks and took off with the fuel hose connected and F1 pumped fuel at a fast rate, so the hose was large and the remaining fuel in the hose would be quite a bit. It would either ignite from the nozzle spill or a car behind it would ignite it as it exited the trailing end of the hose. Plus the hose dragging would hit one or more pit crew members. There was a period when F1 officials wanted to do away with pit stops all together except for tire blowouts, wing replacement / adjustment. So start and finish race on one set of tires and of course the full fuel tank. It would have made it quite boring. I think the limited number of engines and transmissions per season is stupid also. There was a period when teams didn't replace tired during a race because it took too long to install them but that wasn't due to the formula baning tire replacement.

@@SlickBillByron i don't ignore the racing. Le Mans and F1 are in a totally different league where the drivers nowadays face up to 5.5G at turns. But the drivers at NASCAR don't feel so much G forces during the race. They are longer races but that each racer loses around 6-7 pounds per race makes me respect F1 and LMGT races more than NASCAR. Of course jokes always have to be. But as everyone agrees, these races are far harder than NASCAR. As you said there are other circuits on the racing calender but everyone on the planet respects F1 and Le Mans races more. That's why they have more fans.
