I have managed severe HG for two patients in this month alone. The first patient was a referral after spending 2 weeks admx in another hospital. She suffered so much that she could not walk without support. The amount of fluids,including IV dextrose, was infuriating. The referral to my center was for termination of pregnancy 😢. I wish health practitioners understood simple mx practices for such a common pg disorder. Administration of Dextrose IV without thiamine is in itself harmful, risking permanent irreversible brain damage- Wernicke encephalopathy.

Thank you for such a beautiful insights. I had suffered from HG during my both pregnancies. It was nightmares.we really need more awareness on the matters cause people normally say everywomen get pregnant and they get morning sickness what a big deal about it.
