Very well put! It's very interesting to note that hyperinflation is a largely man made disaster almost every single time, i think Saifeadean Ammous does good judgement to that in his book. I live in Lebanon and while the massive inflation rate here does not classify as hyperinflation, you can't but help wonder/curse your luck that this because of a political deadlock that is stupid beyond measure.

The Mandibles is a great fiction novel that takes place in the near future and it dovetails nicely with When money dies. One tells you what it was like and the other about what it will be like. Good luck everyone.

Since congress voted to give themselves the right to borrow from world bank as they see fit. Our national debt has gone from millions to billions to trillions in just a matter of a few years.

Hi! Greetings from Argentina, with 140% LTM, last month 12.7%, and probably worst in the next months. And people vote to continue the current government. Can anyone explain this phenomenon called Argentina? :)

There is a new theorie how the hyperinflation in Germany startet. "The Case Against the Quantity Theory: Hyperinflations as Central Bank Insolvencies, (Mis-) Leading Textbooks and an Obscure Culprit for Hollowing-out the Euro" from Ingo Sauer, University Frankfurt am Main. He says, the turning point was the "bankruptcy" of the central bank. No one saw any value in the central bank's claims. Mostly government bonds. The central bank had already sold foreign exchange and gold. The question is, will the world believe the U.S. will repay its bonds.

So if you fund a war with debt.... and then lose.... hard times are coming.
