Another interesting fact is that the training and the mind wiping Zael endured were so intense that when his interrogators told him he was still a child, he laughed because he felt and thought he was much older than that.

Funny as well because Zael thought the same/or pretended to be older when he first met with Ravenor. Though its a bit sad, because Zael forgot his age getting high off glancing on glass.

When the Grey Knights learned of Armageddon, they went with whoever was available at the time. "The Ragged Brotherhood" was, if memory serves, 112 brothers from at least 5 different grand companies. Of this number, only 9 survived the battle against Angron and only 4 returned to active service. That scene is easily one of the most visceral and brilliantly written chapters in all of 40k fiction. I love that book. (The Emperor's Gift)

Hoping Hyperion becomes the first named grey knight dreadnought. He has a great name and story for it, especially with him being buddies with Ravenor. I can imagine a scene with them meeting again and both finding it funny that they’re basically psychic coffins.
@YourTechpriest

Considering the Grey Knights despise becoming a dreadnought as it means they failed to fall in the Emperor's service, personally I think it wouldn't do him justice. He needs to go out killing a greater daemon or higher with his bare hands to protect his younger brothers, not put in a place that the chapter as a whole sees as a black mark.

"I met the Emperor once. We fought, sang, drank and pissed by his side, we did it all. I do be believe he liked me." He slowly drops to his knee as well. Hyperion kneels as well. The book that told Hyperion's story as a GK, The Emperor's gift, was the first Black Library title I ever read, way back when I was like 10 or 11. I absolutely love it and even though I've read and listened to many titles since, none have ever topped it for me. Hyperion being rather abnormal in the personality department, for a space marine, made him a really interesting character to see the world of 40k through. Personally I think he might return to the setting soon, with Angron kicking about on Armageddon and all that. Hope he makes a big return and doesn't just get pasted to make Angy and/or Ghazkull seem stronger...

The Emperor's Gift is my very 1st BL novel. Really love the moment he broke Angron's Black Sword. For a moment I thought he's a goner for facing the Red Angel. But no, he make Angron go "surprised pikachu" for breaking the sword, and stall long enough for fellow Grey Knight to finish the job.

When I read the Ravenor Books, it never crossed my mind that Zael's story continued after the series. This is a genuine surprise for me since I basically just thought he was just a rare Psyker and moved on. 8:02 Inquisition in a nutshell and it's a good thing they're disbanded and are currently at Commorragh where they're thrown to the gladiatorial arena with nothing but sticks and loincloths.

Could you do a vid on Commander Farsight, as he has a lot of interesting lore that runs surprisingly deep

"How *deep* and interesting this character is." Caught that. Appreciate that even as things evolve, Majorkill still holds onto his roots. His deep, hard roots And any reason to further justify my love of the Grey Knights is always welcome.

Majorkill, do you think Hyperion is stronger than Garran Crowe? I mean the dude not only resist the corruption of a very potent deamon, he freaking wield that very same demon in battle and beat the holy daylight out of anybody else.. I would love to see a video comparing the two. Merry Christmas and keep up the amazing job

I keep learning new things since I recently got into 40k. I been playing Warhammer 40k lost crusade as a Dark Angel. So glad Shayna Baszler introduced me to 40k & told me about the dark angels. It led me here!

I loved the "The Emperor's Gift". Set in 7th ed with all the extra psychic powers. The only thing you got wrong is the warp jumping. Not sure if you've read his novel, but he's an interceptor, which allows him to teleport. Overall an excellent video.

Hey Majorkill. Would you please make some lore videos on the Imperial Truth, the Imperial Creed, The Ecclesiarchy, and the High Lords of Terra? Thank you.

Now that we are talking about OP characters Hector Rex would also be an interesting one to talk about.

I read the Eisenhorn and Ravenor books waaay back when. I only read The Emperor's Gift a few years ago. It was an incredible moment to realise who Hyperion was.

I have nearly read all the works by ADB and I don’t know if any of the other black libraries authors can compare. Just amazing work

Hey Majorkill, if you ever made more of those hats that you did before, i'd totally buy one. I missed the first drop and they were all sold out, and I am sure there are others who would agree with me!

I recently finished The Emperor's Gift and loved it. Probably my favourite of the NOT thick books thus far.
