I mean it's kind of cool, honestly.. If you don't have the money for one for the ST Minis and only have a handful of games, like me, it might not be a bad choice..but what would REALLY make these things sell is an SD card slot... I don't know how good Hyperkin's builds are though, though I do have a 6 button classic Genesis arcade pad from them, and I do like it on my Genesis, it's pretty solid.

Why does everyone hate on Hyperkin so much? I have the Hyperkin Mega Retron (Hyperkin's version of the Sega Genesis) and it runs like a champ.

I think a lot of people developed a bad taste after the Retron 5 disappointment

@@drakon32 I had two Retron 5 Consoles. Both were junk and had to be sent back. So, I gave up on the Retron 5. But, my Mega Retron is excellent. I think there's some quality inconsistencies at Hyperkin.

I actually enjoy my Retron HD for NES carts. Yeah the sound is off and the color palette is garish but it's a cheap HD NES that gets the job done. The controller is great too.

The ribbon cable connecting the controller board to the main board, how many pin is it by chance? I ordered a console and it is on its way but I will need to extend the length of the ribbon cable. Any word information would be greatly appreciated.

This is awesome even though I am 2yrs late on this, but I have the Retron HD NES with the HDMI port. This one is much better than it can play both SNES and NES games and I agree the color scheme looks great on it

background scrolling in NES mode is not smooth compared to Retron 1HD. But they improved the colors.

Hyperkin super retron 3 HD would be good If that would be plausible but I still think the HD clones should give us better low res options like component or svideo I already had the super trio original system love the Snes side but the pins bugged out I think the hyperkin has better build quality I wish they would release something with SEGA master system genesis and snes as the nes seems to hardest to clone on non fpga just make sure the snes sound is right .haveAlex kid built in so many people would buy this imagine that
