Do you or someone you know resonate with traits of hyperlexia?

Jason, if you double click on the email line (*optional noted above it) it overrides it and displays the results underneath. I did the test 37 of 52, which was generally consistent (moderate to high) with the diagnosis I had some time ago. I'm a published writer and over the decades I've written for business, lifestyle, and education journals, as well as writing textbooks. Hyperlexia has been a superpower for me since I was 4 years old. I enjoy your channel and I wish you well.

Thank you, I didn't notice that...I think it may be the first time I have given my name on the channel to be honest so maybe a good thing in the end, as I probably should have done so before :) It is great to hear from someone that has had a diagnosis of hyperlexia when younger and feeling that it is positive. I would love to read your work, if you would like to share of course (either on here or you have my email from the video as well if you are not comfortable sharing in the comments). I have multiple writing projects going on - I hope that one day I finish at least one (maybe once I have completely taken control of ADHD as I feel this is my highest barrier in this area).

My experience of learning to read is something I'm still trying to uncover. I was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 34, but not autism. I'm not ruling out the possibility that I have it but if I do, the masking would be pretty extreme. But hyperlexia's strong link with autism is another facet that's confusing the hell out of me. So...maybe I have it 🤷🏻♀️ lol

Thank you for messaging. From what I found doing research on hyperlexia, ADHD can also be a precursor to the condition so it may be possible you have hyperlexia 3 but due to ADHD the 'autistic like' traits may not go away as ADHD and Autism have a lot of crossover trait wise. There is also the possibility you are also autistic, ADHD can sometimes mask traits of autism to the point where it is almost completely unidentifiable without an assessment at which point it really is a matter of if it matters to you personally if you know or you're OK with knowing you may be but it doesn't effect you enough to get diagnosed. Obviously I'm not a professional at all and that's just my view from a layman's research but it is wholly possible you have ADHD and hyperlexia and also not autistic.
