Hi Sir really nice tutorial, Just one doubt cant we give values such as Yield stress, UTS etc for the materials ehere in optistruct because from the MAT1 type selected only E, Nu were there?
@Aeroswap3 жыл бұрын
MAT1 is a linear isotropic material. As this is a linear material, yield stress has no significance here. This material cannot be used to show nonlinear behavior like plastic strain. If you switch the MASTS1 entry in extended options of MAT1, you can include nonlinearity in the behavior. I have demonstrated the process to do this in my Nonlinear analysis tutorial. Please check that for more details!

Hi, Even after increasing the MAXITER value also..same error is coming.(max.no.of time increment cutbacks reached and also sever element distortion detected). Any suggestions?.
@Aeroswap3 жыл бұрын
Severe element distortion is usually caused by incorrect material data or very high force values. Make sure that you have used consistent units for the analysis. Also check the applied force values and material density.

hello, can I another question please? Do you if it is possibile to define a force that keeps tangential to a surface or a profile? I ask because I have a surface whose profile changes, so i cannot define a tangential force with x,y,z directions. Thanks
@Aeroswap3 жыл бұрын
So you want a shearing force on the surface?
@stefaniamagnettigisolo57753 жыл бұрын
@@Aeroswap yes, I think
@Aeroswap3 жыл бұрын
If you want perpendicular force, you can opt for pressure load which will always be perpendicular to the surface at all locations. However, if tangential force is needed, you have to create separate loadcollector for each surface and assign the vector direction manually. Then these loads can be combined using LOADADD as I previously explained.

Hello, When creating Hexa mesh. first I generated Hex Mesh for the bracket. later when I was trying for other components. It was going on the same component in which Bracket Hex Mesh was there. I tried changing the current component but facing the same issue.
@Aeroswap3 жыл бұрын
Hi Puneet, You can right click on the desired component and set it as current. You can also use the current collector selection box present at the right bottom corner of Hypermesh window to do the same. If this does not work, I would suggest creating a new component every time before creating the mesh. A newly created component will always be set as the current component. I hope this information helps.

@stefaniamagnettigisolo57753 жыл бұрын
@@Aeroswap yes. i have subassembly to analysis, which is loaded with 2 distinct forces. Yet, when I define the LoadStep, in the window "load" i can select only one force, as only one constraint. So, I was asking if it is possible to run the analysis by applying both the loads... thanks
@Aeroswap3 жыл бұрын
Yes, that can be done. Create a third loadcollector and set its card image to 'LOADADD'. Then specify num value as 2 and select the first two loadcollector in the table. Make sure to use scale factor values as 1. Now you can apply this LOADADD collector in the LOAD field of the analysis. This will combine the two forces and apply them simultaneously. I hope this helps!

Hello. Thank you for this video. You explained the procedure very aptly. However, i get the Fatal error in HyperWorks solver view screen. I am assigning the number of CPU cores as 4. Let me know what can be done. A fatal error has occurred during computations: *** ERROR # 4965 *** Maximum number of time increment cutbacks reached, analysis aborted.
@Aeroswap3 жыл бұрын
Hello Dhruv, this is not an error regarding number of CPU cores assigned. This error message points to incorrect nonlinear parameters. I suggest you to increase the number of iteration (MAXITER) from the nonlinear cards and see how it goes. Sometimes, a bit of trial and error needs to be done with the nonlinear settings as per the analysis under considertaion. Hope it helps!

why your carrying out bolt prension load analysis?
@Aeroswap3 жыл бұрын
Hello Lokesh, Although it might seem that there is no use of performing this type of analysis, it is important to understand that this is seldom a standalone case. Bolted jointed are a part of countless mechanical structures. If you can model a bolt as shown in this video, you can model a bolted joint in any other analysis. This video demonstrates this important topic as a base for other complex analyses. I hope this answers your query!
