Thanks for doing this Q&A style. Very nicely done. Regarding top speed. the actual top speed that you can hit on a 950 SP will vary between about 135-142 mph. Verified by me on my GPS in full tuck on level ground on a day with no wind and 70 degree air temp. The reason some have written that it will do 170+ mph is based upon extrapolating how many miles per hour it travels per 1,000 RPM in top gear. So if the bike could pull red line in top gear (it can't) you'd be traveling 170 mph (plus or minus) at redline. And I can guarantee you that it's not fun to travel over 100 mph on this bike for more than 30-40 seconds. It's great at 80 mph and below with occasional bursts to 100 mph. If you want to go 170 mph, you'll need a bike with at least 160 horsepower and a great fairing you can crawl behind.

Thank you for the response, very detailed explanation . I agree, as high up as this bike is, it would not be comfortable doing more than 125. I did that for about 10 sec or so and that was enough for me.. I do have to say that when I gave it more throttle it pulled me hard. It still had more to give. I really appreciate the feed back. This bike keeps surprising me, just a great, fun machine to ride. Thank you and ride safe..

Free tires for Life, after your explanation it all boils down to a defective tire and in conjunction the service agreeing that it is defective. 135 miles on 3.2 Gallons, incredible. I burned up 3.2 gallons just riding to crystal lake and back, however was in Race mode.

Re: Extended service plan. Because you use the Hyper as a daily, that plan is perfect for you. I paid for a ESP for my Audi, but because I have avoided using it as a daily, the money was lost, because in the Audi case the plan has an expiration based on a calendar date; something that I didn't know beforehand. Up until this past January I was driving a Jeep beater as my daily. I had to trash it after it got vandalized. Even then, it was cheaper for me to buy a $4,000 bicycle than add miles to a car that is way expensive to service. The Audi is 2012 and I only broke the 14K mark three weeks ago. I really appreciate you suggesting the plan, and I will consider it, but on regular weekdays I have a 4 mile roundtrip, maybe more if I detour to Trader Joe or Safeway. Your videos are very informative, thanks!

No problem, the plan is good for someone doing a lot of miles. My commute is 120 round trip. I don’t ride every day but at least twice per week, it ads up. Audi is nice, but like the Ducati it’s expensive to service.

Hi there, really enjoying your videos and love your bike! I’m in the process of buying this bike, although not the SP version. I’m very partial to a loud exhaust and after seeing your videos I’m considering the AR one. Did you have to have some sort of map after fitting or did you simply install? Thanks form the UK 👍🏻

Nice Vid My Hyper. I have a question for you to answer in part 2. When you put your slip-on on. Did you notice any increase in power? Also, it looks like you did a de-cat, any increase that you can feel? Also, did you do a remap of the ecu? if so, who did you use? If not, how does the bike run? I also come from a dirt bike background. I correctly have a 2016 Beta 300RR and a Husky FE450 great bike. I just got my Hyper and I trade a 2019 Husky 701 Supermoto, very nice bike. But before I got the Supermoto I had a 2016 Aprilia Tuono 1100 factory, but you can't have the same fun like the Husky 701 or the Hyper. thanks.

Mark Scott Hey Mark, on the Austin’s, I only put the slip ons. No full exhaust, decat or remap needed. As for the power, I didn’t really notice a difference in power. Hope I answered your questions. I will put this on part 2 as well. Thank you for commenting. Ride safe.

Love your videos. I have a 2021 SP on contract, but delivery is not available from Ducati until sometime in June due to Euro5. I can't find any remaining new 2020 Euro4 models. I don't know why the Euro5 is causing delays, but I hope that Ducati does not change the exhaust. I live in Germany and it's against the law to change the exhaust to non-Euro5 which is why I'm so concerned. I found a couple of Euro4 exhaust options, but nothing for Euro5 yet. Maybe I should find a used one just to avoid the Euro5. What do you think?

Hey man, great video - lots of good information here. How tolerable is the wind blast at highway speeds? Since there's really no wind protection I'm wondering if could use it for some light touring by adding a small wind screen.
@myhypermotard83513 жыл бұрын
The wind is really not anything that has bothered me before. I have never ridden a bike with a shield so I wouldn’t know the difference. I commute on freeway sometimes at a good speed. I am used to it and the wind doesn’t bother me.

I have a question... i test rode a hypermotard today and the bike shakes/lugs like crazy getting out of first gear at low RPMs, is this normal? it's so odd... like is it possible to smoothly let off the clutch in 1st gear without the beast-like shaking? is the engine/transmission or something else bad? or normal?

Definitely not normal, mine is real smooth out of first gear.

@@myhypermotard8351 Thank you! Any idea what could be the cause of it?
@myhypermotard83512 жыл бұрын
@@alsipwoodpusher not really. Something to very careful of when looking for a used bike of this type, is that it hasn’t been raced. These types of bikes are the kind that people tend to abuse because they are really fun to ride. Just because it has low miles it doesn’t mean the engine is well taken care of. At one point I thought of getting a used one, but I kept running into flags whenever I took them for a test ride.

Does the hypermotard vibrate at higher speeds? Also, how's the suspension does it drive while braking hard?
@myhypermotard83514 жыл бұрын
No, not at all. This bike is very stable at higher speeds. It may have to do with the fact that I had the suspension tuned in for me, that makes a huge difference in handling. Same while braking hard. I do this all the time for practice in a parking lot. Again, it may be due to the suspension being tuned in . I’ve gone from 60mph to full stop as fast as possible without any disruption to the suspension. Thanks for commenting, ride safe.

In the UK lane splitting is legal..most bikes would overheat in traffic plus you could get rear ended..as long as your going 10mph faster then traffic its fine and can be done safely..a bike wouldn't be a bike if you weren't allowed to lane split to me..✌️

Do you have problems with rusty water coming out from the rear frame? When I wash mine it seems that water gets stucked inside the pipes of the frame afterwards...
@myhypermotard83514 жыл бұрын
Great Question. I do have water coming out from behind the rear axel under the chain. It is not rusty water, it is just clear water in my case. Yours could be just dirty water. I think when washing, water gets into an area where it tracks back to the back because it is lower. I wouldn’t worry about it. Thanks for watching. Sorry you got to see it in low quality. KZbin is taking very long to upload it in 4K. Stay tuned for part two. 2 . I will add your question on it. Ride safe..
@paulandersson61204 жыл бұрын
Thanx for a great clip. 🙂 I saw rusty water come out as I accelerated hard and the front wheel lifted. There were big spots on the rear hugger, smaller spots of the suspension and trails of of rusty water under the rear cover of the back frame. This happens every time after I washed the bike, only using a waterhose. Keep up the good work!
@myhypermotard83514 жыл бұрын
@@paulandersson6120 I guess it could be water that just sits in there after washing then finally comes out when moving. Not really anything I would be concerned with. Maybe take it for a ride after washing it to clear out some of that left over water.
